Some Set Dungeons Impossible w Alter Buffs

I was knocking out some set dungeon masteries and got stuck on one of my normally easy ones, barb Might of the Earth.
The season alter has so much power, specifically to elites, then even a naked barb with all main stat rolled off kills elites too quickly to master, since it requires a rotation of 3 skills to kill each elite.

It would be nice to be able to turn off the alter buffs just for this purpose or perhaps adjust some of the set dungeon requirements since the alter is a permanent thing.

Just consider that a new type of challenge. :smile:

I should have done it before completing the alter I suppose.
Either way, this might want to be addressed with certain set dungeouns now that the overall power is significantly buffed via the alter.

Since the Career achievements work in either season or non season, you can complete it with NS characters. If you don’t have one that can, when the season ends you can try it with the transferred character.

One of this Season’s Conquests is Set Dungeon Mastery.

I just meant in the context of the OP where they are going for several/all masteries. I think the seasonal conquest is just eight?

Eight kind of counts as “several”. Notice how they said “got suck on one of my normally easy ones”, implying they’ve done that one before but need it for seasonal. If they need it for seasonal they can’t just get it done with a non-seasonal character.

In case you are failing after following the Maxroll guide about Set Dungeons, simply don’t follow it and explore around the skills and items. I hope you are open to suggestions, because I’m willing to bet that they won’t change anything after this point. You are always free to try another Set dungeon if you can not make it work but you should know that there are more than one solution to every Set dungeon.

If I have to guess, I’d say picking Azurewrath for freeze effects and switching for Mountain’s Call skill rune for Earthquake should make it easier, but I have no idea. That should take care of the hassles for cooldown reduction of Earthquake to use it more often, so you can get rid of Leoric’s, In-geom, RoRG and Ancient Spear- Boulder Toss skill rune to replace them with some other useful utility, such as Spear- Harpoon, Warcry with Chilanik’s Chain or Krede’s Flame.

Again, in theory, utilizing take off damage of Leap- Launch can be a work around for one single impact killing the Elite, then you should be able to pull them to the patch of Earthquake. I have no idea how Set dungeon registers something as using Leap on the Elite but Launch skill rune deals damage on the take off without inflicting Earthquake.

Make a lvl1 char and grab his weapon.

I already mastered them all, my issue is with season conquest only.

Could you try a different conquest? I mean, which ones have you done? Three easy ones are Boss Mode, On a Good Day, and Years of War. Since you’ve got the Eight Sets, you could go for Years of War, or if you’ve done that one, then Boss Mode is a good one. The Barb can do it with a Whirlwind build. And On a Good Day comes naturally when you’re trying to complete Guardian.

I know this doesn’t really fix your issue, it’s just a suggestion.

For sure, but I was trying to finish early enough to get on the leaderboards for them.
And yea it doesn’t address the main overpower issue with certain set dungeons that you have to hold back on dps.
