Some easy QOL changes

Here is a short wish list of quality of life changes that I have not seen requested often, but would be really helpful and easy to implement.

1 Unbind skill 1 from left mouse

Make an option to bind skill 1 to any key, and have left mouse button do “force move + interact”. Lack of this causes all kinds of whacky workarounds like force move on mouse wheel an general disuse of lmb.
Or at least (if this is against Game Design Policy) make a separate interact which can be bound to any key. I’m tired of standing in front of a pylon or door crawling with mobs and casting lots of battle rages before finally triggering it.

2 Remove confirm dialogs

Seriously. Salvaging legs is a pain. A confirm is useless if it has to be confirmed 20 times in a row anyway.
There is already a logic implemented to handle “valuable” (rerolled, transmoged) items, used for yellow “salvage all”. Show confirm dialog for rerolled/transmogged legs and let us salvage the bulk with a click.
And while we’re at it - remove Myriam’s “enchanting will make it boa” question. It’s not that hindering but just as useless.

3 Put GR invites to foreground

I often look at profiles of the other players in a pub GR game. When someone starts a GR the dialog is hidden by the profile window and I miss it. It should open in the foreground.

4 Close chat window on GR start

GR starts after last player confirms, and whoops you’re in, sometimes facing two elites. 34 - 444 - die when you actions are misdirected to chat is a bad way to start. Just remove focus from chat on GR start.

5 Lock GUI during combat

There is already a combat detection in game (“you can’t change skills during combat”). Nice. Make an option that none of the GUI elements is clickable during combat. How often have we misclicked, opened dialogs, dropped the potion etc.

6 Paragon button

I see two options for this pesty little thing.
Best would be: make a little auto assign checkbox near the desired property, and from then on this gets filled up on its own. Button will show again at 200, 400, 600 so you can auto assign the next. Starting with 800 it can silently fill up mainstat until forever.
If that is undesired at least move it out of the way to the upper right.

7 Close GR before it is finished

Give Orek an option to close an ongoing GR when it is failing. Either the other players get a dialog “abort/continue” or better Orek gives the option only when everyone is back in town. TP out, close, next. Will also decrease server load by not permanently creating new games with bounties and all.

More ideas like that? I have excluded the all time highlights (like auto pickup mats or moar stash) on purpose, devs probably have heard of these already.

window after 5 seconds. Maybe 10 for those who insist on taking screenshots of every thing they do in game…

For #2 if they can’t remove the confirm dialogs, atleast let us use spacebar to confirm.

Enter key works for that.

  1. Remove the forced focus from the stash search field. Only focus on it if I click the field like EVERY OTHER text box.
  2. Move the paragon button somewhere else. If something has to be there in that fixed position, let me choose what I want to appear there. COE rotation, stacks or duration of a particular skill, anything other than something that opens a screen wide window on misclick.
  3. More character slots. If the technical reasons for not giving us more stash tabs is true (bad code and design), there aren’t any technical reasons why we can’t have more character slots. We were told hopping in and out of games is not a desirable way to spend our time. Sure beats stash Tetris for me!

I’m so used to force move being on mouse wheel, that I don’t even think about pressing LMB to move any more, so that’s a non issue for me. Same for salvaging to be quite honest. #3 and 4 though, I would love to see those.

I have force move bound to one of the thumb buttons. Much more convenient than mouse wheel to be honest.

Almost entire UI should become locked and thus nonresponsive when in GRs. You really don’t need to interact with any UI features during GRs, and what you might need to interact with have hotkeys bound by default anyway.

For #2 I just don’t get this issue. It’s not in the way at all. However I would say it should only show up when in a safe zone. One should not be able to add points while in a rift or around danger.

Depends on the builds you play, I guess. RGK and supports shouldn’t have AD so the icon always appears when I join a game. I also remember some min/maxing like with the old TR meteor build where you want less than max attack speed from paragon.

But, I like your idea though. Only in a safe place and never in a GR.

Especially the potion button. How many times have we all accidentally dropped potion in combat?

Awesome. Great. Incredible. I have a great difficult and have died a lot of times with left clicking moving instead using skill or the opposite. Do it please. The game should be easy to play. Miss clicking it’s a sh1t.

Don’t know if this makes much sense for others, but for me, on my barb, I have WW set on A key (I use A S D F instead of 1 2 3 4 - keeps from having to reach to top of keyboard - I have slight arthritis) and force move on spacebar, within easy reach of left thumb. Keep A pressed down and whirl to hearts content. Only time I hit L mouse button is for doors or an occasional manual Rend, and R button for Ground Stomp. Works for me…

I’d love an option added to auto decline that popup that comes when someone is about to do a boss fight…

That would also lock you out of Greed in a vault.

Speaking of vaults have those close way faster (say 30 seconds) and also have the option to close out cow levels for pools. Would save having to remake a game after using each one and could easily stack 10 pools up.

Another one - allow us to quit a failing rift w/o exiting and making a new game.

Good one, I updated the list.

Also I would like to see uber portals and cow portals reset in the same game after cleared when ubers are all dead and 100% of the cows are dead .

I know a lot of people do not farm ubers much any more but after a certian point you end up with a lot of keys and For me personally I sometimes like to just smash ubers for a while and having to remake a game ever time gets annoying .
