One final set of numbers, this time showing the top 10.
Note: Number below class shows count of top 10 clears. Bold shows top 1. Parentheses show delta of top class clears vs top overall clear. So you can see, in terms of the actual GR number cleared, how far back each class was from the leader, whether or not they made it onto the top 10 board.
The numbers get a bit finicky starting in Era 13, when everything becomes time attack. Here I begin to add the time delta, in seconds.
I also included “shutout delta”, which is the number of GR tiers, or the amount of time, that if lost would drop you out of consideration for the top 10.
Some overall takeaways:
Witch Doctor is even more terrible on this board than on the top 100, earning just 3 clears in the top 10, ever. And zero rank 1 clears. The next worst for rank 1s are Necro and DH, tied at 1 each. And for total top 10, Necro is next at 12 top 10 clears, though of course it has also existed for only half as long. The next worst 14-Era class is DH, with 16 top 10 clears- more than 5 times as many as WD.
Wizard has had more than 3 times as many top 10 clears in a single Era (10) as WD has had, ever (3). And about 13 times as many total top 10 clears (38). Hell, Wizard has had more rank 1 clears (5), than WD has had top 10 clears, ever (3).
Some classes amassed serious negative GR delta over time. Monk is actually the worst, at -79, followed by WD at -75 and DH at -74.
Necro is technically the best on this metric, at just -19, but if you prorate that to a full 14 Eras, you get -38 which is not quite as good as Wizard’s -31. Still, Necro has been very good, overall, at avoiding being a lot of tiers behind the leader. But, interestingly, it also has the largest single-Era defecit: Era 12, when Necro was 13 tiers behind the leader.
Wizard performs even better on top 10 than top 100 or top 1000, amassing 27% of the top 10 clears, and nearly 36% of the top 1 clears. Crusader is very solid, with 25% of top 10 clears, and 21% of rank 1s.
The class with the most top 10 clears almost always has the rank 1 clear, too. The only exception to this is Era 3, when Wiz took the top spot despite having only 3 in the top 10 compared to DH’s 5.
Utter dominance is the norm- in most Eras (and in every Era since Era 5), a single class picks up 8, 9, or 10 of the top 10 clears.
