So, what happened to the Nephalem?

Really wondering how are they going to get around that.

In D3, they created/resurrected a race of demigods. If one hero could single-handedly squash the Prime Evil Diablo without as much as breaking a sweat, how will they justify that Lillith won’t be just another cockroach to crush under their feet?

At the very end of D3, Tyrael asks the rhetorical (?) question whether the Nephalem will “be our doom”. Remember that the Nephalem are not in the Scroll of Fate, and that the last line of the prophecy of the End of Days mentions that “Fate lies shattered forever”, something that as far as I know has not come to pass yet. On the D4 website, the very last bit of text in “Story” asks “what fate awaits them […]?”

I think all this is a perfect setup to surprise us with the story in D4. I think that if the pale guy in the trailer is in fact Rathma (as some have deduced from him calling her “blessed mother”, but I digress), he has summoned her to balance the threat of the now-demigod Nephalem (as necromancer live to preserve the Balance). Perhaps the maker could also unmake the Nephalem?

I’m kinda more wondering about why the protagonist have become females since diablo 3.

Nephalems probably just went home or lost their power when heaven closed it’s gate. Not sure why Barb are returning though. Could’ve call the melee class something else.

I would prefer that D4 story took at other place while D3 nephalems are busy fighting other demons at the other side of world.

Making Nephalem corrupted or die is just lame. I am still mad that they killed D2 sorceress, who is Li-Ming 's teacher, in the lame way.

They are death it`s the typical problem with ageing. Diablo 4 plays far in the future.

Yeah, I would like that D3 nephalem died of old age and D4 took at far future.

I think it’s only 30 years after. Not that far into the future. Only one who’s most likely to be dead of old age is the barb, yet it’s returning.

Notice, the old guy in beginning is speaking to a tomb. Whoever is buried there could be a character from D3.

But yah I think we turned to our evil side just like D1 to D2 with Adrian. We’re the new Adrian, hero gone bad that must be taken down, otherwise Diablo will just return, but common, we all know Diablo will return.

Lilith is summoned to save us from ourselves… she is the mother of all. But she’s still the Daughter of Hatred and with her history, what the hell makes anyone think she won’t just want to hard reset us again like Malthael tried?

Many questions to be answered.

Because 2019. Because California. Because social engineering through political correctness. You get the gist.

At least we can still call the protagonist female and not non-binary gender neutral.

Lilith reformed the worldstone and nerfed the Nephalem.

No it doesn’t. The events of D4 take place only 10 years after Malthael got his candy bum whooped.
