So much D4 negativity

Where are the D3 forum shills to defend this abomination? It’d be one thing if there was only one or two posts with heavy criticism of the game, but it is almost an endless stream of WTF moments with D4.

Looks like D3 will be my game for the monster slaughter fix that I want occasionally. Just wish they would add some actual content to the game.

$40,000,000,000 revenue in 2022 and they still neglect their playerbase. Greedy shrubs.

I think even they have mostly lost all their steam, except maybe for one or two.

How do you excuse a decade’s worth of blunders? Especially when each newer one is worse than the previous one?

  • the multiple tone-deaf D3 game directors & dev teams we’ve gone through over so many years, and the current disastrous “classic games” team that doesn’t know their right hand from their left foot.
  • the forgettable negligible D2R that ain’t worth more than 10 bucks, as cheap as their AI filter.
  • announcing a mobile-exclusive-at-the-time Diablo game as the main event to their own convention.
  • releasing said formerly-mobile-exclusive game in all its pa2winess glory & disastrous post-launch maintenance

Answer: you don’t.

And now this blatant tonedeafness. Nobody in their right mind can excuse this.

I thought Immortal was the absolute worst-case scenario when it came to Diablo. But at least even that kept me playing for 3-4 months. D4 couldn’t even keep me playing more than ONE weekend.

I was literally falling asleep on my keyboard earlier leveling my sorcerer. I closed the game. Have not been interested in even opening it again. What a shame.

Same here. The most soul-crushing part for me was picking skills to use. Everywhere I looked I saw the same old :poop: from 23 years ago, nothing new to try.

Not that D3 levelling lasts long, but while it does, I could use Slow Time for support and mild crowd controlling, Black Hole for good ol CC, mix and match utility & support etc.

But this was just plain atrocious, made even worse by all the same crappy legendary powers that kept dropping. All the attack spells do the same thing, just different element, whether it’s Meteor or Frozen orb or Chain Lightning.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORING.

actually playing D4

thats because the haters have to make a bunch of threads about the same thing to make it look worse instead of putting it all in one thread

and the whole sad part is you are complaining about a beta and test for the servers and think thats the end game

Comparing a finished game to a beta and to test the server for load, LOL

IIRC, as bad as Immortal is for P2W reasons, it was not plagued with a disastrous launch like other Blizzard titles. That is likely because it isn’t even truly a Blizzard game, it is a Netease game with Blizzard licensing.

Why do you make excuses for this company? They have a $68billion market cap. They can and should do better. As a customer, YOU should demand better.

It is a beta test, so what? They have 30 years of game making experience. Are you telling me that suddenly when it is not a beta test that everything will magically improve? That is delusional thinking, at best.

I don’t recall ever reading anywhere that Blizzard’s intention of this beta test is to “test server load”. They have a bazillion dollars, CHARGED PEOPLE to participate in a beta test, and still can’t setup adequate servers?

All that is besides the point - the game itself is awful.

I don’t bother arguing with shills. They’ll stay up all night to try and convince you that grass is purple and not green, as if the D4 devs are gonna pull off the miracle of all miracles and fix everything wrong with the game in 2 months, ie implement an entire brand new set of skills for every class.

GOOOOOOOOOD luck…

You should see the ones defending Wolcen, an even bigger trainwreck than D4. And I’m like "why are you here wasting your time trying to convince me that this :poop: game is great, instead of playing it??"

Meanwhile my negative Wolcen review on Steam is the highest-rated on the game’s store page lol.

I’m not though, Fact is he is comparing a finished product with a skeleton Beta to test the servers

and what I don’t understand is, if you hate it so much why even bother going to the forums in the first place
or am I learning how to work out the trolls

If you can’t understand what a beta is and what it’s for and is never the whole game then OK then

I would check other places to corroborate this before declaring that the sky is falling, or haven’t you? Not sure if posting privileges on D4 forums get revoked between beta phases or what, but yeah. This here D3 forum probably does not paint the full picture.

D4 will go exactly the way of D3, and I’d put money on it. It will sell several million copies and people will play the ever living $&*! out of it for a few months, because it’s the new thing. Then the honeymoon phase will wear off and those people will finally see the issues that the rest of us are seeing currently. Blizzard will try to fix those, but it’ll be to little to late, for most. The player base will leave in droves for w/e the new shiny game is at that point and time.

Eventually a new expansion will bring some people back, but not enough to justify a 2nd expansion. By then Microsoft will deem this project a failure and D5 will be the thing on their mind (or maybe a full fledged MMO since they’re slowly creeping in that direction anyways). While D4 will still have it’s hardcore fan base, it’ll be much smaller, similar to current D3’s.

The only thing I can’t predict is if Blizz will f it up even faster by being greedy with their monitory practices. As atm it’s bad (full game price, + seasonal passes) but down the line it’ll probably be worse, because it’s Blizz and I expect nothing less from them to be honest. For your guys sake I hope I’m wrong, but I doubt it.

Honestly, it’s kinda cathartic for me. I’ve spent more than my fair share of time here warning that what Blizz has presented ultimately wasn’t going to be good, but that was drowned out by the mix of D3 haters/D2 fanboys alongside genre purists. Even what can’t be experienced yet in progression is just shallow rip-offs of other systems where reception can be extrapolated with conditional twists in mind.

This is the end result of trying to pretend D3 didn’t exist and running through the motions to pander to the aggressively vocal minority of the D2 supremacists (with honorable mention to PoE trolls). All the games had flaws, sure, but it doesn’t mean you recreate them or even regress on iterations. Alas, not even mods can save it because “ALWAYS ONLINE” is something not enough people kicked and screamed over with D3.

honestly, besides from something that is really missing in this game, i still find myself drawn and intrigued by it.
the animations and graphics are spectacular compared to most games i’ve seen.
looks incredibly real.

and yes, the OP is right. there’s too much troll talk. and anger, lots of anger. as if a kid that has been promised his toy and didnt’ get it. I find this childish and immature. and i’m glad that this is like that, because then there’ll be less morons to play with me, and i can be almost like a single player.

yes the game has flaws, and lord knows i’ve been disappointed with thigns in the game. but as an overall feel. it is a cool looking game, which i look forward to explore. time will tell.

Just a reminder that Diablo 4 is technically a finished product. All the open beta is meant for is to stress test the servers for launch . People are right to complain that it’s terrible as blizz is currently presenting the game.

Diablo 3 had the same problem, it was pretty bare bones at launch and it took them years to fix the legendary drops and add all the content we currently have

I like playing through the story with cinematics and all. Brings back memories of playing through D1, D2, D3 plus expansions for the first time. That alone might make it worth buying… and Lilith is drop dead beautiful and fascinating.

The alpha footage leading up to open beta seemed to have a fair amount of massive aoe spells that span the screen. That’s not something you do in D2. Were they removed, or are they unlocked at higher levels, or am I misremembering? They didn’t seem to borrow much of the actual combat of D2 anyway. Most skills being pulled from D2 seems less of a homage, and more incidental. Like do you really think the upcoming DLC classes are specially focused on D2? Maybe it’s that D2 happens to have a full roster of fan favorite characters, whereas D3 has the witch doctor that is long abandoned (but I like WD a lot). One gets the feeling that they tried hard to get at least one initial new class never seen before, but it just never got past concept phase.

IMO, already at this stage: D4 >>>> D3. D4 beta ALREADY looks to me like a MUCH better game than D3 after a DECADE of updates.

Welcome to Activision and modern gaming. Let a program create random maps, throw in boring repetitive content, dumb down the gameplay to make it more “accessible” to appeal to as many casual gamers as possible. Add mounts to encourage people to buy skins later on in the cash shop. Do the bare minimum to maximize short term profits, using a beloved franchise name.
