So much complaining on PTR notes

Long time Forum reader here and I got to say all the complaints on these PTR notes are crazy. I’m not surprised since I have perused this forum often.

One of the biggest complaints I have seen in the past is after a week of a new season everyone says they are done with the Season and there is nothing to do…

We all have asked for something else to do besides GRs… “hunt for items like diablo should be”. I have seen that sentiment so many times.

Well Blizz did exactly that. They gave us 21 new items to hunt for!! We don’t even have all the details on the attributes and people already have complained about their worth??

And they give us a goal to strive for during the season. Find them all and get a cool reward. The first thing people do is complain " WHAT I have to spend time finding them???". Those are the same people who will complain after a week into the season they have nothing to do…

As a long time Diablo fan ill just say I am pretty pleased with this upcoming season. Ill be checking it out for sure. Thanks Blizz.

I am with you mate, I do not understand all these complaints. It seems people are getting harder to satisfy every day… I am personally also quite happy about the upcoming theme and can’t wait to start season 24

The biggest problem with Ethereal items is that they’re making their drop rates abysmal. Add to that that you need to get lucky on the legendary affix, the passive affix, if Blizzard gives them good stats, and the type of weapon that drops (a Barbarian getting a two-hander will very likely make it automatically useless).

It also stings that you’ll lose them once the season ends.

As of now, we only know that the drop rate will be in a range of 1in 10 to 1 in 400 relative to legendaries. If the drop rate was 1 in 20, I would not call it abysmal. 1 in 200, abysmal seems fitting.

People are entitled to have their opinions. Needing to play all classes and have a small chance of getting items should not be the thing for one season only. Just like you can only get the rainbow portal in one season. It was something else if you could use kadala for it.

For me is great as always. Just always I pray not to break balance between classes.

Normally I’d agree. The level of complaining on the forums in the past has been a bit much and it’s a pretty big turn-off to having proper conversations.

But I think it’s merited this time. We get it, D3 is on life support and Blizz doesn’t want to allocate any resources whatsoever to an old game. On the other hand there are SO MANY small changes they could do that would make everyone happy it’s perplexing they don’t do them. Tweaking numbers on sets shouldn’t take a whole lot of investment considering all the data available on class performance, and it’s the kind of change that would have an immediate impact on player satisfaction.

Like… do something… please…

The theme is not my major complaint… Just one dev could make all sets/lon builds work again. And could probably be done in a few days since it can be a numbers change and some items perhaps. But they wont, and I have a good idea on why…

Snarky correction: PTR note. Too little there to pluralize it.

The problem is you can’t keep those items for non-season. Some of us don’t really care about transmog but the practical use.

I hope that they will change their mind that the Ethereal feature will be ported permanently to non-season after the S24 ended.

Also, getting Ethereal will be insanely hard when you can’t get them thru reforge, upgrade rare, and Kadala.

Not to mention with a droprate higher than ancients, and that you can’t enchant them either.

Well come next week, we’ll see exactly what’s in store for season 24.

Search all season with all classes for 21 items that we will not get to keep, fun. :joy:

More time into making more builds viable than season theme which last 3 months… build diversity is much more important :man_shrugging:

I won’t lie, I’m kind of hoping that their transmog will be incredible… at the same time, I kind of hope that they aren’t, because then I’d have to decide whether I want to get them on pc or console. Because, honestly there’s no way I’ll be able to do both, at least not with the current proposed method of acquisition.

It is cool to hunt items, yea

But i mostly play my Monk or sometimes the Wiz. Frome Time to Time even Barb.
But why should i play all the other Classes, esp Crus and WD that make me :face_vomiting: for like 75-300h each, just so that i can get the Transmogs for Monk and Wiz for later Seasons ?

Thats just crazy and dumb.

The OP is an automated response to the PTR notes and done by a bot, ignoring all the downsides. Now the the forums are being overrun by bots. What this world coming to?

??? The portal to Whimsydale? You can get it at any time, seasonal or non-seasonal, HC or softcore.

It was a reference to you only having one season to farm the d2 weapons transmog

I’ve been reading these forums since they were created back in September of 2011.

I’d say the complaints are quite reasonable, given how stupid it is to have to play each and every class during said season in order to get to keep the transmog.

Also, you should have seen the forums when Blizzard announced the Cow level and said it’s going to be a temporary event. If this mild criticism regarding this PTR bothers you enough to the point, that you decided to write about it, the massive backlash back then would have made you vomit…

The ethereal items should be permanently in the game imo if they are going to add them at all, make it not only hard to find, but hard to manage them so you have to feel like you’re earning the power from them. Having them for a single season is what makes it a huge issue imo. If it was a permanent stay in the game, it wouldn’t be an issue finding them all.
