Hello.
I am playing in standard windowed mode. The game works in an incomprehensible way with screen resolutions, distorting the selected values. Standard screen resolutions with aspect ratios 16:9 (1920×1080…), 16:10 (1680×1050…), 4:3 (1600×1024…), have clipped UI text in various places, horizontally or vertically. For example, if I choose a resolution of 1920×1080 in the game, the text descriptions of the hero’s passive skills will be cropped horizontally in some places. If I select the screen resolution 1600×900 in the game, the text descriptions of the hero’s passive skills will be displayed correctly, but the text descriptions of the hero’s inventory items will be cut vertically. I tested all the resolutions suggested by the game (limited to 1080p), none work correctly with textual UI descriptions.
Interesting fact. When I select a resolution in the game graphics settings menu (for example, 1600×900), the game automatically determines different values for DisplayModeWidth “1584” and DisplayModeHeight “891”. Editing these values in D3Prefs.txt does not fix the problem. For the game to determine the exact 900p, you have to shift the DisplayModeWinWidth value to “1616” and DisplayModeWinHeight to “909”. The text is distorted anyway. Where does this inaccuracy come from? Why does the game work this way with screen resolutions? Why are areas of text distorted?
The problem is the same in fullscreen mode.
I only see this kind of skewed screen resolution in Diablo 3.
