Now that the company is changing hands, shouldn’t the New Blizzard showcase dedicated streamers from YouTube?
One would think, since there are so many content creators on YouTube, that they would take advantage of this underappreciated source. What are your thoughts? Who would you nominate for such content?
I would also like to add, not logging in seems to help as well. I use Firefox and ublock, both with mostly default settings and I haven’t even gotten to “three more videos and you’re gone” warning even once.
Yes, you lose the ability to comment and it might be a pain if you have a lot of subscriptions, but it’s better than the ads that they’ve taken to such an absurd level.
I hate YouTube as a company for several reasons. Alphabet, YouTube, and the crybaby creators who are mad about ad blockers can go pound sand. I have zero remorse for blocking ads and using for free
Not sure if this is serious or not but no. We need less visibility on streamers. We need to go back to the days where people thought for themselves. It’s annoying enough when people on here give credit to streamers for things they didn’t even do, best not to make it worse.
This forum is a great place for sharing knowledge, hints and tips. I’m always open to learning things from any source, streamers, youtube and web sites included. I don’t use twitch though or follow direct gaming streams.
One thing I hate with video content is they’ll take something that would take you 30 seconds to read and drag it out to a 10 minute video so they can get mid roll ads, do their stupid raid shadow legend and express VPN sponsor reads, do their waste of time intro, and beg you to hit the buttons that pleases the algorithm… Then finally get to what you’re actually looking for, very s l o w l y
One, I think, by now, YouTube has a right to earn a profit. If they want to ‘go to war,’ over ad blockers, well that’s their right. I think it’s a huge mistake, but they have been a free service for a very, very, long time.
Two: Some streaming content is fair, reasonable, and informative. It used to be that we could count on YouTube to answer all of our burning questions regarding new content, updates, tutorials, walkthroughs, etc…
I realize that it’s mostly corporate shills trying to make a buck, but it does push new players into trying out new things. I suppose, if we all banded together on what we want for new content, rather than simply saying, ‘no,’ we might actually have a say in what we’d like, collectively, to see in newer updates.
Perhaps, I have my sights set too high for Blizzard Entertainment, but it is going through a merger right now. That can only mean good things in the future. Especially, if new leadership is more conscientious of it’s fanbase.
That the content creators and YouTube has to earn money is not something I am against, still I don’t understand why Blizzard or any other company should promote them more.
The content creators still seem get invites to Blizzcon and I guess other events.
To summarize why are the rest of the community better off by such a move?
Two all that you list up there is true and I have no argument against it.
I still see no benefit for the rest of us for such a move.
One aspect that you miss out on is that if the you tubers get too attached to the gaming companies the risk loosing their objectivity!
It is already a give and take, keep in mind that without a certain game the creators have nothing to base their streams on. Their streams do promote the game company. So they are in synergy.
Anyway I don’t see why this would benefit me or anyone else for that matter.
A cincere thank you for taking the time to try to explain your thought.
Most YouTube content creators take 10-15 minutes to answer a 10 second question.
I don’t need to fast forward through 10 minutes of jibber-jabber to find out what the new DH build is. I just copy the #1 spot on the leader boards.
I don’t need to fast forward through 10 minutes of gobbly-guk to get a simple answer to a simple question. I can just ask on the forum, check back in 15 min and get my answer.
YouTube needs to stick to what YouTube does best, show cat videos and people failing at stuff. Blizz already showcases streamers more than enough. No need to do it more.
I’m not sure how you can say that with a straight face. Diablo 2 got new content 20 years after it’s launch. Also, I think you missed the part where I specifically addressed the fact that we will soon see new management. Bobby is leaving, from what I hear.
That being said, there’s still a large community of gamers here, that would happily pay for new content, if it was good enough. Why would Blizzard Entertainment ignore them?
Bear in mind, I am new to Diablo 3. I have played Diablo, Diablo II, D2r, and Diablo Immortal extensively, preferring to give Diablo 3 a miss for 10 years. Now that I’m playing it, I’m enjoying it.
What part of this Wowhead interview do you not comprehend?
Future of Diablo III
Will Diablo III continue to have new Season themes or will they start repeating after Season 28?
Season 29 will have a new Season theme. Rod Fergusson elaborated further “it won’t be as rich as Season 28”. Starting with Season 30 previous Seasons will be repeated. There will be “a mix and match of previous cosmetics and features that made up previous Seasons”. Future development efforts will go into Diablo IV.
Recycled season themes and cosmetic might be new to you, but they are not new to people who have actually played D3 for 11 years. Blizzard has moved on to D($) and D4.
“Season 30 will bring fresh gameplay balances and bug fixes to reinvigorate your adventures but introduce no new theme. Instead, this Season will usher in the permanent return of a community-favorite theme, Rites of Sanctuary, which will be playable across all modes. Following Season 30, iconic themes and features from Seasons past will be reintroduced roughly every 3 months, ensuring there will never be a shortage of twisted obstacles to overcome and demonic blood to spill.”
Blizzcon is coming up let’s see how much attention D3 gets, get back to me with the answer.
Let me know how things are going for you 10 years from now.
