Shard Ground effect

Some iterations of the “Essence of Anguish” weapon shard has a property that causes the coolest ground effects I’ve seen in Diablo

“Killing an enemy deals the damage done by the death blow to all enemies within X yards”

This causes a beautiful explosion of evil clouds of giblets that is very satisfying to me.

Is this new?

Or is this actually part of an item for some class in D3?

New Season Theme: Season 25 introduces a new type of socketable item called Soul Shards . Nephalem can find 7 unique Soul Shards, based on the Lords of Hell, which give players demonic new powers. One of 3 Prime Evil Soul Shards can be equipped into Helms and one of 4 Lesser Evil Soul Shards can be equipped into Weapons. Each Soul Shard can be upgraded three times using a new seasonal-exclusive consumable, the Hellforge Ember.

I think he means is the effect and visual completely new to the game or just copying some existing ability. I think it’s new, but I can’t say for sure.

Thanks Meteorblade, but Cavendar is correct.

The ground effects for that shard iteration is plain awesome, IMO

I’m just wondering whether that is new or part of an existing item effect that I haven’t seen before
