Try HC, or non season if you are desperate to jump on.

Even if you get in, its just tons of lag, screen shuttering when map renders and elite pack dying.

Yeah, I thought queue times might have been better at times when the USA were tucked up asleep in bed, but that’s not the case. Still getting 10+ minute queues for seasonal heroes (experienced 12:00 to 14:00 GMT). Non-seasonal heroes getting in pretty quickly. Dread to think what it’s going to be like in 3-4 hours when USA wakes up.

Same problem for me, why on earth are the servers busy?

At this stage of the game it’s unbelievable that being able to log into the Ptr should even be an issue. How are we supposed to provide worthwhile feedback if you can’t access the game? While I understand that the purpose of the PTR is for bug testing there is no reason at all that we should have server access issues for Season 20.

I’ve created the game, went out to increase difficulty and now have been in que for over 25 minutes.

They need to add more ptr servers.

Apparently now there is a 22 minute estimated wait… lol. You try and get excited for Diablo but man, what a drag. Seems like Blizzard just disappoints at every corner these days. PTR servers suck, Warhammer Reforged sucks, D4 probably going to disappoint too.

The PTR server has limited capacity, in part due to the background data collection that happens. When a spot opens up, you can get in. There is only one PTR server for everyone worldwide - which is why it gets crowded.

We have had test cycles where the wait was 10+ hours long! Sadly the old forums are gone or I would link some of the complaints from back then.

The PTR is not meant to be as accessible and stable as the Live Servers are. It is just for testing.

For anyone new to the PTR - keep in mind nothing we do on the PTR transfers back to Live and the PTR can (and sometimes is) wiped back to zero even during a test cycle. What you do today may be gone by Tuesday if they do a bug fix patch and need to gather fresh test data.

Thanks for the insight. Would just be nice to test out all the new stuff before the season starts.

The PTR is scheduled to run for around 2 weeks this time. The buff to XP for season leveling, the extra drop rates, and the PTR vendor make it easy and fast to get a char up to level and geared. It should let you test what you want even if you get started a few days later.

The cue timer is broken, it says 14 minutes, i’m in cue for 20 minutes now and it still say 14 minutes :frowning:

In other words: wait for the nolifers to finish stuffing their face.

Miss Cheetah speaks the truth but its inconceivable to publish a test environment that is woefully inadequate in terms of capacity. I don’t expect a full duplication of the live environments capacity but 1 server has never been close to adequate. Hopefully the queue times get better.

There is a very uncomfortable reality when it comes to test realms - the realm is not really for the player - it is for the game company. The PTR is not meant to give us a meaningful gaming experience - although some do enjoy it. The intent is to gather data based off filled player testing slots. When those slots are full, the server just queues anyone else wanting in. We are not “entitled” to a slot on the test server.

I know that sucks. But understanding what the server exists for, and how they are primarily gathering data, helps people adjust expectations.

What would drive an expansions in test server capability, is a need for more data that Blizz is collecting. Most of that data is collected by the server, not our feedback on the forums. If they need more slots filled to get more data, they will expand capacity.

Yup, they need to upgrade their servers too. They keep adding in new contents, and its unclear if they are even adding in more ram or better software/hardware to keep up with all the game files.

It’s tough to test things if you can’t get into the game though.
