I apologize in advance for my English.
Even though I’ve been playing Diablo for 20 years, I still have trouble remembering the rune words and the runes themselves.
I would welcome the section “improving the quality of life”, where there would be a list of rune words and individual runes. What each rune can do, what its level is, which it follows, after which (for mixing in a cube).
For this information, I have to go to separate servers, minimize the game and it’s a huge poison.
As an example, I share the “links” below:
Run list:
One who is at the arrerat summit would be enough, but right in the game.
Rune whisperer according to owned runes
Try googleing the “runewizard”
What do others think about it?
Thank you for your time

I understood your english relatively fine, I’m supportive of ingame information for runewords!

Knowing what to do with runes you find would be nice, instead of looking the information on a web site ( or, as I used to have, printed notes from Arreat Summit, or The Amazon Basin
).
Cain could have vendor like menu, with all possible combinations available.

I think in game rune ‘encyclopedia’ or something similar would be good. Availability of information is important.
Even more so if they want this to be enjoyed by a new audience.

i really wish they would put runewords and horadric recipe lists in-game like D3. Not that they should take anything else from that game. lol.
But there is also an app i discovered! it has a runewords search and even shows drop rates:
Apple Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/d2-helper/id1525002934
Google Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.naterop.runes&hl=en_US&gl=US
i sent the developer an e-mail and he said he will try to add a skill calculator to the app before D2R launch.

In game rune list and rune words would be great. It’s so annoying to have to open up a browser to look up rune info. This can easily be added to game as a QOL upgrade and does not affect game play at all.

This thread’s suggestion has been included in the QoL section of the mega compilation I have started, so that it gets more exposure.

Yeah, having them in game would be very helpful. Even more so because there can be some confusion when going to certain websites. Some of the top searches on Google are from game mods which could cause people to waste some runes.
This needs to be built into the game. They could even add the option when clicking on Deckard Cain or something like that.
This is one QoL fix that shouldn’t have any pushback.

Yeah I have always thought the mods really messed with people who were playing real D2 for the first time…poor noobies, googling items frantically, confused when they land on the item that is nothing like the one in their inventory…Corruption? they say…lol.
At least after a few months of D2R these modded items will no longer be on the first couple pages of google, so people can learn the real stats of items, and how D2 actually works.

One of the mod sites actually got me so I’m speaking from experience. It had been like 3 years since I last played so I was a bit rusty. I wasn’t familiar with the website, and alarm bells were going off, but I still went through with it cause I wanted to get back to playing. Long story short, I tried to make a cold sorc staff that didn’t exist. I remember thinking to myself ‘this one is cool!’ ‘Why have I never made this before?’ Well, I never did because it didn’t exist in the original game. Oops! That’s what I get for not going to the websites that have been here for ages. I just hope this hasn’t happened to somebody with some high end runes. That would really suck!

Haha, yeah I’m sure it has happened…luckily I’ve been playing relatively solid even before D2R was announced so I was still familiar with them, but I definitely could see it happening.
I do know that I tried to screenshot a few things I had planned, like a Guardian Angel plate, and I saw the stats as I was about to screenshot…had to back out and find one that wasn’t ugly like the path of diablo one…(I think that was the mod it was on)
They changed the plate from a nice crisp 15% to something like 7%res…blah, no thanks. I hope they leave D2R items like they are now. It’s a great game, mods are not nearly as fun to play as the real thing.

Ehh. I have the unpopular opinion of wanting new stuff. I have played this game for thousands of hours, tried dozens of builds and had multiple mule accounts for every item possible. None of that should add any merit to what I’m about to say.
There’s Something about having new stuff in a game I’ve played for decades that excites me. I know it would never live up to the original game, and I understand why people don’t want this classic changed, but there’s just a part of me that wants more. It’s definitely selfish of me, I can admit that, but I think it would be so cool to have an official addition to the game (even if it wasn’t canon) that we could just do more with. Maybe it’s just me being stubborn about trying mods and wanting to play something that’s “official” but I’d have a lot of fun with new content and new runewords, or at least I think I would. Maybe it’s just me chasing the original feeling this game gave me, and I’ll never get that again, but the remaster will come close!
Regardless of what changes make it into the game, barring some colossal screwup, I’ll be incredibly happy regardless.
I do hope if on the slim chance they add some content, that they lock it behind a new mode. I know this may frustrate some people but it’s just the way I feel. I’ll always be passionate about this game like we all are, we did preorder after all, and that’s with Blizzard being the shell of its former self.
I know it’s impossible to make everyone happy, but I do genuinely hope most of us are.

I want new stuff too. I just don’t want it to replace the old stuff.
I’m a firm believer in an extra realm for the awesome new stuff.

I don’t think we can call it awesome just yet. With that being said, even if no major changes come, I think we’ll still both be happy. Vicarious Visions is doing a great job so far!

I use the same site now that I did 15 years ago, arreat summit
Kinda surprise it still exists after all these years.

I would also like the addition of a “Runewords Library”, if you will, as a part of the game itself, so that we do not have to go to third-party websites.
Perhaps we can consult in-game with Cain to access his store of Horadric knowledge in order to find out the runewords and their effects?

Yeah this would be great. I would love to have a socketed item and be able to just press a hotkey to then pull up any runeword listings for that item, almost like a mini menu hovering like when comparing gear in D3.
Perhaps doing the same when clicking on the individual rune as well.
