Even if the fix the damage, the problem is that 3 of the buffs are worthless and move to slow for the way most people play. Diablo 3 is a game where until people push the limits of survivability, they are laying waste to monsters so fast they barely pay attention to what they are killing. The theme spells except for Meteor and the lightning thingy are just too slow. They trigger and whatever you were fighting is already dead and you are 4 screens away. It’s like whoever came up with this doesn’t actively play the game enough to understand how it’s played.
So that being said I think you are right it needs to be scrapped entirely and something else brought in as a replacement. Maybe a free RORG effect again or a Free COE effect to keep with the elemental thing they got going on.
No offence but it’s unlikely that you’ll still be able to solo that 150 even if they leave it in. Most of it has to do with the proper set up, learning how to use it, the tricks to surviving a 150, and then a lot of fishing and manipulating of the theme. Plus you have to actually unlock all the GR’s up to 150 to do it in the first place.
Exactly! Again hate to be so negative but most of those themes are soooo slow and small radius it’s really out of place like it belongs in another game, especially the Firewall!
I don’t know why blizzard does environmental themes like this. There’s no “good” way to do it. It’s either going to be too weak and players will be upset that it’s not killing stuff, or it’s too strong where it does all of the work and ruins the integrity of builds.
They really should just scrap this theme and figure out another one in it’s place.

I particular like the idea by SeuTiBeun where the theme would buff you character and individual build you play instead of just doing “environmental” flat damage!
i have a feeling instead of removing AD scaling, they somehow accidentally made the baseline number full capped AD scaled…not sure how, but you know blizzard this isnt their first time screwing up in similar fashion
You got any pointers on steering snowballs? Whenever I try it goes the way I don’t want it to go. The only thing I can consistently get to hit anything is the meteors.
Only thing that I can think of is if it is timed with a certain seasonal buff so that you are not just hoping to get meteors 3+ times in a greater rift and snowballs for the rift guardian. They could also maybe re arrange them to make it even harder to get snowball for the rift guardian. This is to help prevent Solo support characters being able to do 150s. Have you tried if any of the other themes can kill the rift guardian other than the snowballs?
90s - A wall of flame engulfs everything.
180s - Crush your foes under the weight of rolling snowballs
270s - Release twisters of pure energy
360s - Breathe Lighting
450s - Meteors rain from the skies around you.
then repeat so that you can only have 2 of each theme

Man seriously like using Macro on the video the cursor change that used to go against Blizz rules. I don’t see much love to the core by using 3rd party softwares to play. Then on the video you say that Blizz doesn’t want us to play. Well Macro isn’t really playing is it?
Amen to that mate Both ZD and ZE clans are a band of cheaters and boters and should be treated like that. Those people are like a cancer to the community.
you can still love a game and want it to be better even with/without any macros, cursor colors and so on, it doesnt change the fact that the season theme is over tuned and should be tweaked
And on top of this issue raised by Rob, there is also the ‘master set dungeon’ for the season journey being made near impossible by the season theme, per a separate thread.
I think the easiest solution is to implement reverse dmg scaling of season theme effects, based on GR lvl. The higher GR lvl the weaker dmg of theme effects should be. It will allow the theme to be usefull at speed and casual tier, and wont break high push tier. Yes it means no theme at all for high GRs, but it will be better than what we have now.
Ideally current theme should be scrapped for completely new one, but i doubt there is time for that.
Theme needs to be random not on a timer like after so many kills and damage needs to be dialed down I had a meteor take out guardian at almost half health .
