Season 34 primal drop rate is beyond the pale

I’ve played this a long time and never seen it so dismal for the primal drop rate.
Paragon 1400 and still can’t complete the altar because the primals just aren’t showing up. This seems beyond bad RNG.
If so, please relent. This is really frustrating.

On this account I’m playing on the EU server. I’m basically in the same boat. I have had 2 primals so far. I have finish the season journey to where I got the extra stash space. I finish the altar to where I did one seal.

There are 2 other accounts in the family where they have finish the altar. The other one in the family is about the same as this one. All I can say is just keep playing and you get them. That is the way the game is.

I have always said primal drop when they drop. I have never gone by the drop rate. You have one account they rain like cats & dogs. Where the other one gets nothing. Plus both accounts play the same. Have the same stuff done, same paragon and playing time.

There was one account last season never finish the altar still needed primals. All four accounts finish the season journey and were all about 1500 on paragon too. Yes the game sucks at times but you have to live with it Sorry!!!

This is how Blizzard WANTS primals to drop. What people don’t understand is the long tail of the bell curve. The stated rate of primal drops is “1 in 400” legendary drops so let’s do a little math. After 400 legendary items drops do you think you’re chance of getting a primal is about

A) 50%?
B) 63%?
C) 100%?

The answer is B about 63%. (It’s actually very close to 100-(100/e)%). But it gets worse… after 800 drops what do you think the chances of getting a primal are?

A) 63%
B) 86%
C) 100%

Again, the answer is B. Every 7th Diablo 3 player will go 800 legendary drops without a primal. This is by design. Final question: How many legendary drops do you need to get to guarantee a primal drop?

A) 1200
B) 2000
C) 5000

Bzzt! Trick question. There is no “guarantee” of a primal drop in Blizzard’s system. After 1200 drops about every 20th player will still be without a primal. This is what Blizzard wants. After 2000 drops about 1 player in 150 will still be primal-less. Since there are many thousands of D3 players Blizzard expects many of them to be in this boat and bemoaning the situation. Oh, and after 5000 drops it’s about 1 player in 272000. We’re in “reverse lottery” territory but it can still happen.

That is 100% right, but you can get people to believe in that. There was one time I was in a GR public game. We did about 6 GR’s and I got 2 primals 3 times in the 6 runs. Then just the other day it happen again. I got 3 primals in 5 or 6 GR’s again. That help me finish the altar.

I myself get sick of listening about the drop rate in this game. Blizzard doesn’t guarantee nothing in this game on drop rates. You get what you get and be happy you get that. I have better things to do in this game. Then worry about when I’m going to my next Primal!!!

Got 23 primals once, in one game session, EU…

Regardless I’m not buying it.
Been playing this too long.
I know when it’s changed.
Didn’t ask to be talked out of it, or consoled.

Visions are the best source of Primals, IMHO, so I recommend farming those.

I am happy to report that the seeming primal drought has lifted for me, and I have returned to what I consider a normal drop rate.
I will mention that the primals do seem to be better targetted to my builds this season. Not getting three Blackthornes LOL.
I understand this is all very subjective, but I do like to document my impressions.

Just a thought, I could be wrong. With the drop rate of Angelic Crucibles being so high, I have been getting 1-3 per GR, that is 1-3 drops per GR that will not produce a primal. That does seem to eat into the changes of primal drops. Also, add into the mix the keys, and you lose a good bit of primal chances per run. That adds up pretty quickly.

Yes lads i tray Visions and is great i run tons and tons of Gr and noting and i run visions and done 20 quick and 4 Primals drops so luck maybe but is potencialy high drop of legendarys per min so i guess is work for me
