Season 31 should be called Season of Necro

I think you missed my point. Sure I can play any class I want, and I play them all. But what’s the point of playing your favorite class if it doesn’t benefit from the seasonal theme? I might as well play Non-Season mode.

Normal mode doesn’t have altar or fissures and you’re not starting from scratch.

If none of those are enough to entice you into seasonal though, then YES. Absolutely play normal mode. The game is played for FUN, right? So… have fun with it.

EDIT: I’m just saying, I personally started enjoying my entire life exponentially more, to say nothing of things I was ostensibly / allegedly doing “for fun” the nanosecond I stopped trying to compare myself to some ethereal world race.

I’m not a top-percenter and the literal moment I embraced that, my life was a LOT happier.

That doesn’t mean I’m settling, but it does mean I’m being realistic and employing a healthy self image. If necros and WD’s were reversed I’d STILL be using necro. Because I’m not competing for anything, so why even worry if I’m bottom-barrel in the meta?

Do you feel the long CDs can easily be overcome?

With a Trag’Oul or LoD Death Nova, the CD isn’t important

it’s so bad that only 1 class benefit the most over the rest of the classes…

Oh well, I can play other games until season 32 in that case… lets see which season theme they reuse for it…

Haven’t played necro for a while (only as step stone in the last two seasons) and it’s the only thing which makes this meh theme a little interesting. So necro it is.

I might start with a DH so I can quickly finish season Journey and completer the altar, then move into a Necro.

and then DH?

Only that it seems, that I really have to play the “standard” GoD build again. Filtered for DH and season 20 and nothing seems to make use of the season 20 - and now 31 - theme. :frowning:

Info: The links above work for me, but the post preview windows gives the same error for both; hope they work for everybody.

I’m not sure, but I don’t think GoD set was out by season 20. I could be wrong.

Think maxroll will have their “tierlists” etc up in the coming days, I never played s20 so have no experience with what works good with open cube theme, looking forward to check out the tierlists.

This is correct, think GoD came in s22 if my google was showing me the right thing

I like maxroll.gg tier lists also. I think D4 PTR delayed updating the D3 builds as most of the contributors (including Woody) are busy on that. I hope they update D3 builds soon though.

I am sure they will, even think Raxx said in one video that they planned on having D3 s31 stuff up before the season starts.

GoD was introduced with patch 2.6.9 / season 20… …and one (now) wellknown guy  put a build here:
https://www.diablofans.com/builds/107899-gears-of-dreadlands-hungering-arrow-demon-hunter

Edit: 2.6.9 is 21 NOT 20…

Weird, I tried to search for GoD season 20 a couple of days ago and found nothing, was curious what was the “meta” with open cube

Did another search and found this when I searched D3 season 21

" Season 21, the season of the Trials of Tempests, is the latest to release in Diablo 3 and features some notable new content for the game, including 2 completely new sets for the Demon Hunter [Gears of Dreadlands] and Necromancer [Masquerade of the Burning Carnival]"

Actually patch 2.6.9 was S21.

There’s a stickied thread about patches and the seasons they correspond to. Use it to find accurate information.

Since I last played my hardcore DH in 2019-2020, I had a few items lying around.

Might only work for a short while, but anyway:
https://eu.diablo3.blizzard.com/en-us/profile/Aphandra-2120/hero/170506733

Ninth Cirri now grants +600% and 4 guaranteed pierces to Hungering Arrow.
(Up from a meek +25% pierce chance shown.)
Hunter’s Wrath grants +200% and attack speed.
The armory doesn’t pick up the ring, but I recall something about primaries.
(Also the Cluster Arrow on Rucksack is new, my old one only had +2 sentries.)

With this character I have level 65 gems so I assume I was just about doing 70-75 grifts. Records are unfortunately flushed. With the equipment you see right now, I did 68 in 5 minutes, carefully as I tend to proc death prevention. (Might switch St Archew’s to the belt that reduces damage by 10% per pet, effectively 50%.)

And this is with Marauder - on one hand it sounds nice, because there can be build diversity, on the other, fairly convincing.

As for the meta, with the above I’m trying to say that legendary upgrades make old guides somewhat obsolete. Doesn’t seem overly complex to figure out.

Shatter Shot feels pretty good Rune, compared to other ones I tried. The other ones felt slow while this one tends to clear corridors wonderfully due to its split.

As well as Season 22 with the 4th cube slot where every necro could add another scythe and instantly deal triple damage

Oh :poop:… I wanted to write season 21. I could have sweared I did… Of course it was season 21. Because Argos said 20 and Carnivore said 22. And in another thread I already said that GoD was not out in season 20… Well, spellchecker did not find the error; strange… ;-)))

I don’t play with these characters anymore… especially WD… DH never again, after the season I deleted everything and salvaged all gears. I did 150 trangs, rathma, I tried to find your record of 1600 on the ladder board… I didn’t see it for WD.

Playing WD must be a nightmare… very vulnerable character.
