I would leave the permanent pools for much later.
The effect is very small when you are geting a small amount of exp while getting your build together.
Getting some extra power to farm higher faster will be much more impactful.

You can reset the Altar by clicking on the top Seal.
I’ll just pick whatever I find the most fun, the whole thing should be unlocked shortly after I get the second challenge rift done next week, so there is not really a big difference going the most optimal route
