Season 26 | The Fall of the Nephalem | Has Ended

I’m glad there will be a season running over the long weekend. Looking forward to getting started!

That said I’m concerned about the notes on nerfing both drop rates and experience for Echoing Nightmares. How concerned depends on what the exact changes are.

I’m also disappointed with the Fist of Heavens nerf making it through to live. Even Heaven’s Fury isn’t as powerful as Inna’s, but FoH - while a lot of fun - definitely didn’t need this. I was hoping they’d scale back the reduction (maybe to 300 or 350%) and maybe compensate FoH as they did Invoker.

Yes. Unfortunate. Several really simple changes that would have made a BIG difference to A LOT of people.

Personally, I think I’ll quite enjoy the Raekor-Spear build in its current state.

But I expect that a majority of players will give it a try, and say, “nope, too squishy, too hard to play, I’m sticking to WW/Rend… or maybe a different class.”

Wow… A :poop: concept made into an even bigger pile of :poop:… Congrats.

the problem is rage , blizzard tend to listen to popular streamers these days to implement , or not implement changes , rather then listen to people who specialise in the class and give very good feedback via the forums

Where has all the streamer hate been coming from lately?

I’m flattered that you think highly of me MM, but I’m really not in competition with those guys.

Besides, I know that Wudi, Raxx, Rob, and I ALL told Blizz that people would really benefit from some built-in mitigation… still nothing.

Season 26 just doesn’t seem fair to HC players… Perhaps Blizzard should make ALL deaths permanent in Echoing Nightmares, HC and SC… Then let’s see how many play S26…

Please don’t give them ideas to make it even worse than it already is.

The season theme is basically a cursed chest.

There is no new gameplay nor items excepted for the barbarian.

Honestly I tried it on PTR, I did not like it.

And I know I’m not alone.

Gamers will be stuck with Inna for the 3rd consecutive season, which is utterly boring.

How could anyone enjoy that ?

Skip.

your a god guy rage who always has the classes best interest at heart , i just think its a shame that your voice isnt heard regarding the barb class , but yeah we shall see what the new raekors looks like when patch drops and whether i put some 150 augs and push it

Kind of a boring patch similar to the Followers update. BUT, just think how terrible life would be hunting for a wearable flavor of time every season.

The Reakor changes are pretty huge. I don’t think you guys realize how OP it’s going to be.

This sounds like a personal problem to me. Who said you have to play Inna? Perhaps if you play the game to have fun, and play any build you feel like, instead of being a sheep and following the meta, you’d appreciate the smaller things in life and enjoy the game more. Just my 2 cents :+1:

If someone challenged you to say “Blizzard hates hardcore players” without actually saying the words “Blizzard hates hardcore players” those post-PTR changes to Echoing Nightmares absolutely nailed it.

Seriously, you made it more dangerous, removed the possibility of using Goldwrap for protection (as mobs no longer drop gold), changed fire damage (which could be prevented by wearing an immunity amulet) into physical (which doesn’t have an immunity amulet), swapped out the Shield pylon so they can’t wait out the Overwhelm bar in safety, and didn’t add an “I’ve had enough” safety / exit zone at the edge like Trials used to have.

Season 26’s theme already wasn’t looking that exciting. It’s the first time in a couple of years that I didn’t play on the PTR for its entire duration, as I tested the Invoker changes on a non-seasonal Crusader (because character copies were initially broken), and found Echoing Nightmares to be pretty boring in both PTR iterations. These changes do absolutely nothing to change my mind.

Thanks for taking our feedback and saying you don’t care. Especially for casual players who wanted a power increase of some kind. I’ll skip the season I know you don’t care and I know others will have stuff to say but I’m just voicing it again. GFY thanks for nothing

great changes, playing hc is a waste of time anyways

This is going to be a fairly short season for. I’ll play to get cosmetics but this time I’m really not incentivised to play further.

The Echoing Nightmare as a theme is just uninspiring and unrewarding. The augment gem is nice but rather mediocre reward. Could’ve thrown something else like bounty mats in the mix. Not too many so not unincentivise doing actual bounties but a few per run.

Also I can’t fathom why the EN was made even worse for HC players. I don’t play HC myself but I can already see a lot of HC characters falling this season.

really disappointed by the barb-changes…there are so many things you can improve on barb and raekor (like desperately more toughness) but no- the throw gives more fury -.- yeay

also EN could be more rewarding, some new ideas - not nerfed in exp (lets see about that…)
there were so many easy wins to make this eason fun but of course not

without any real seasontheme and not many classchanges i will skip s26, no thanks

The only people I heard who mentioned the shield pylon needed to go away were a few of the large streamers. “Echoing Nightmares in HC aren’t a problem. Just get to be able to a state you can play GR150 easily” was how they’d respond.

The HC crowd was already unenthusiastic about Echoing Nightmares before these changes. There were a few people who said that they found a way around it, so it shouldn’t be too bad. Just get a Goldwrap + Boon of the Hoarder, Flavor of Time, or Immunity Amulet.

Blizzard just ignored practically the entire HC community for advice from a handful of major streamers. And compare the threads of the changes compared to those same streamers. The threads are almost all negative, including people who play SC, whereas these major streamers are praising the changes.

I’ll get the pet. I don’t need the easy augments anymore. I’ll keep the seasonal in case there are double bounties.

For me, there’s nothing that can be done in season that can’t be done easier in non-season.

People tend to gravitate doing what’s easiest. Human nature.

So in terms of end game play, what is there to do and where is it easier: season or non-season

– Paragon climbing - XP/hour : every season where the season theme makes it easier to clear higher GRs at a faster pace gets more participation. Why a play season if paragon climbing is easier in non-season.

– Bounties : Whenever double bounties appear in season, you get people who haven’t started seasons yet jumping in just for bounties

– GR pushes / new mechanic that increases power creep: in S25, people played to clear 150. If you can’t clear higher in seasonal, people will stick with non-season.

– Anything that increases chances of better gear
double bloodshards so you can gamble more
faster augments
more drops

Season gives us Echoing Nightmare but that’s just a different way of paragon climbing.

I just don’t see any advantages to season when my non-seasonal has more paragon and all my augmented gear.

  • Thx for the buff, Monk is the best for everything right now
  • Disappointing for Raekor :-1: , like many streamers & barbs have already state, it NEEDS :pinching_hand: built in dmg reduction from the set itself , and instead we get more fury no one asked
  • Echoing nightmare is the worst season theme imo :-1: :-1: :-1:
