SE 28 , farming build , With a puzzle ring?

Summon a Treasure Goblin who picks up normal-quality items for you. After picking up 12–16 items, he drops a rare item with a chance for a legendary. So will This also have better chance to get us Primals To ???
could be interesting

Pls keep in mind - due to the Altar of rites you will pick up white items auto.

The chances of a goblin to drop a Primal would be astronomical, if it’s even possible. For that miniscule chance, you would give up a prime ring slot. In my opinion it’s not worth it.

Meh don’t think so!
Assembly a speed NR build and go nutz as always. Tresure Goblin is too random and takes too much time to build up, unless you’re on Battlefield or buying whites and dropping it.

Once you understand the mechanics of Magic Find the answer is a firm “Meh”. Here’s a good description of it from d3.maxroll.gg:

Whenever an item drops, the games assigns a rarity to it: Common, Magical, Rare or Legendary. The chance of each rarity to be chosen depends on the game difficulty and on the source of the drop. Magic Find increases the chance of each item to be higher rarity. It does not increase the amount of items that you find. When you go to a high enough Greater Rift (around 100), nearly all the items that drop are already Legendary, and at that point Magic Find becomes completely useless.

Many will tell you the cap is actually GR90 but that’s slightly misleading. At GR90 you max out on the items guaranteed to be legendary (and thus each has a whopping 0.25% of being primal) but there are a couple of extra items that will drop. Above GR100 they’re almost always legendary.

So if you’re farming below that cap you’ll have a chance of a chance at getting an extra primal (or two with the altar fully unlocked) but it’ll be a very small one. Better to get to the point where you can farm GR100 reliably and fast. Not only do you get the best loot you also get more XP and thus paragon levels.

Can’t say I ever noticed any difference in the likelihood of geting 12 legendaries at 90 or 100+, fairly certain it has the same values from 90 upwards.

Those are soloing numbers. Remember in group play the magic find is bumped up slightly so it probably does cap at GR90 for groups.

I’ve been speed farming solo around GR105… turns out I can make 4 runs before hitting my blood shard cap so it’s convenient. Most runs are all legendary drops but I still get the occasional white, blue, or yellow. Maybe one time in 10. So it happens.

I am a solo player, and given that you only get 10% of magic find towards legendary drops I doubt the 30% (3%) you get in groups are noticeable.

I tend to do the same, and I’ve never noticed any statistical difference between doing that at 90 or at 125.

Could work for nr to get a very very very sluightly higher chance on legendary drops (and thus possibly primal).

For gr -high enough- nope.

For primal farming, I’d choose running high enough grs that are fast enough to do.

I had a puzzle ring drop fairly early leveling one time. It was nice to have and I wore it for a while. I’m not the type to level in 2 hours.

Puzzle Ring summoned Goblins DO NOT pick up items you drop on the ground.

The Altar of Rites Seal that allows Pets to pick up items also works this way.

  1. They DO NOT pick up and salvage items you’ve already picked up and dropped on the ground.
  2. They DO NOT pick up items dropped from opening Bounty Caches.
  3. They DO NOT pick up items dropped from Holiday Gifts.

What others are telling you is correct. You not only have to be Level 70, but you will have to successfully complete a Greater Rift Level 70 before you even unlock Primal drops.

So, it’s best not to waste a Ring (or Cube) Slot. Save your Puzzle Rings for The Vault, after you unlock the Altar of Rites Pet pickup Seal, and let your Pets pick up everything that drops in Greed’s Realm. (The Vault and Inner Sanctum).

In the meantime, farm Primal items like you normally would.

  1. Container drops. (Chests, Monsters, Breakable Objects, Corpses, etc.)
  2. Gambling (Kadala).
  3. Upgrading Rare items. (Kanai’s Cube)
  4. Reforging items. (Kanai’s Cube)
  5. Crafting items. (Blacksmith or Jeweler).

The only time you should equip a Puzzle Ring is if you’re playing a new Seasonal Character and you happen to get a Puzzle Ring before getting any other Legendary Rings to drop. (Note: Puzzle Ring is a Level 31 item).

Put the ring on your follower.

You probably just aren’t paying enough attention. There should be a pretty noticeable difference between GR120+ and GR90. The chance for 12 legendaries increases pretty slowly past GR90, so you likely won’t notice much of a difference at GR100. But it definitely does keep increasing past GR90.

As an example, I just did 10 runs each at GR90 and GR120:

For GR90, I got [11,10,11,11,10,10,10,10,11,12] legendaries out of 12 regular items. That’s 10.6/12 legendaries per run.

for GR120, I got [12,12,11,12,11,12,12,12,11,12] legendaries. That’s 11.7/12 legendaries per run.
