Instead of destroying the build and the usefulness of the gear we laboriously collected and augmented, just make it better.
Get rid of deathwish and mirror images, and either buff the set or make it work with Wand of Woh instead, to get us a more active playstyle. Please?

How is the build destroyed? FB is performing far higher than expected with the nerfs applied. At worst, non seasonal theme is Tier A.
Non mirror image build hasn’t even seen a difference in dmg output.
What? The set multipliers were changed, so all the variants where nerfed. I must be misunderstanding, because the flame blades, magic missile, electrocute, and hydra variants all took massive hits.
Keeping the multipliers the same and changing either MI or deathwish would actually do a lot for build diversity.

Yes, I’m aware of the “nerfs” on paper but that hasn’t shown through in practical application. Check the leaderboards, FB is doing exceedingly well. Don’t take my word for it, check feedback from diehard mages.
Sure, you were talking about non mirror image builds though. What’s the data for that claim?
I love my magic missile FB build, that I can normally play at gr115 in 5min, and now I have to drop it to 105.
Don’t mistake Firebird’s performance for the effects of the seasonal theme. Try without the shards and you see the devastating truth.

There was a good set, but it was nerfed. Why are you breaking good things? Why don’t you give anything instead of him? Why should I play as DH? I don’t want to play for DH. Do I have to skip Season 25?

Uh, no.
Top clear in PTR non-season is 137 with over 10k paragon. If you mean ptr seasonal clears, well, every class has cleared 150 at this point, many times, due to a variety of bugs with the soul shards, so that is basically meaningless.
There isn’t any.

Top Firebird’s clear in non-season PTR is GR135 right now.

Took me 9 minutes to clear a 115 on my NS manual blade FB build para 2.7k, was done with it right then not even going to bother
I have some similar anecdotes that match your experience. For me the “sweet spot” that I try to get all my characters into is being able to run GR115 in around 5 minutes consistently. It’s the most fun for me playing the game for whatever reason. My pro-slam and frenzy barb can do it, my LoD bomb sader can do it, you get the idea.
After trying firebirds in multiple builds on PTR, I can tell it’s just not up to par, unless you run MI. They’re nerfing it in the worst way

If they brute force this nerf, there is no playable set for wizards, again.
Hydra is slow, has only weird support items and is overall unfun
Tal Rasha is an underpowered, annoying outdated pile of junk without a raison d’etre
Vyr/Chantodo playstyle feels like contracting CoVid to me
DMO is a clunky mess I won’t ever touch
Nerfed Firebird without Mirror Images will end up dead last, a junk set that only masochists would chose to play.
They really did it this time, I lost interest in wizards completely. My goal for S25 has become to finish the journey as soon as possible and then delete my character and forget D3 until the next patch. lol…

Revert both 2p and 6p nerfs. Just remove the Mirror Image interaction. Or kill Deathwish.

Did my Firebird’s Wiz this season and it’s so fun to play… And now this nerf!!!
This is what happens when the devs spread their focus on 2-3 class per season and create crazy OP things compared to other… If they start focusing on one class per season they will not need to buff/nerf specific sets now and then.
And my wish is that they buff Starfire to 75-100% per stack and make manald heal usable again… I want to play ranged wiz, specially Lightning Vyrs.

Honestly these seasonal OP shards make any nerf/buff insignificant atm, but still, Inna is as strong as Firebird for solo ( maybe stronger because of monk’s control immunity ). Inna is OK, Firebird got nerfed…

I never wanted to be “brawling battle mage”. The build quickly becomes cumbersome and un-fun with the Fragment-route. It’s no Bueno for me.
I wish it worked with Explosive Blast and Woh. That would be much more fun for those who rolled Wizard to BE wizards.
