Hey, so I found a bug involving Necromancer’s new Sanctified Army Of The Dead 50 yard aura, and Fate’s Vow helm.
Normally, the aura applies the Unconventional Warfare rune, meaning you have little skeletons wisps damaging enemies that are within 50 yards of you. Not too distracting, and seems powerful.
Now, Fate’s Vow boosts Army Of The Dead, and also has it apply the Unconventional Warfare rune as well. Seemingly, it should either stack to have twice as many wisps, or do nothing extra. However, when placed in Kanai’s Cube (Possibly when worn as well, untested thus far), it seems to not apply the Unconventional Warfare rune, instead using no rune at all, simply having it cast the base version of the spell.
When combined with the aura that constantly casts the spell, this leads to a massive visual cluster, as you will have multiple Armies Of The Dead overlapping and exploding on everyone and everything on screen at once. While this is an impressive visual display, its slightly excessive, and not what I think is intended (Unless it is, because its quite cool currently, if visually noisy)
I have a video of how this looks, posted it to Reddit, here is the cluster of skeletons in all of its visual glory: https://www.reddit.com/r/diablo3/comments/vxvpuy/i_dont_think_the_necromancers_seasonal_aura_is/
Anyway, just wanted to report as I don’t think this is intended
although not intended, looks very cool, i don’t want this to be fixed

It does look spectacular, but its also a little obnoxious. It just fills the entire screen immediately with skeletons, and the sound is so loud. Part of me wishes it was not a bug as well haha
They should fix it just from the lag it produces alone, nevermind the just stupid amounts of damage it’s doing. I’m running a complete garbage LoD build and still climing. Just passed 90, no sweat, no danger. Ran 126 EN at 500 paragon without a problem either. Would have been higher if I hadn’t gotten tagged by a meteor.
Now…put this on Rathma and watch hilarity ensue.
I just hope they don’t decide to remove the aura altogether, being easier than to fix the unintended interaction. Blizzard has been pretty meticulous about never allowing passive builds (pets, auras, etc) to be functional in any way whatsoever, and I doubt they’d start now.
You think this is laggy. Wait till you see Wizard shooting full screen of magic missiles LOL
The sanctified effect is currently doing the same thing that happens when you manually cast Army of the Dead with the Unconventional Warfare rune while having Fate’s Vow equipped. It’s Fate’s Vow that is bugged, and has been for some time now.
[Edit: For the record I am 100% okay with things as they are now, Rathma is hilarious.]
If its the helm effect thats bug i dou t we’ll see a change. Maybe a damave reduction since p1000 clearing 150s shouldnt really be a thing.
Unless this is the let them eat cake Season…
I’m not sure what’s going to happen tbh. On the one hand, the bug has existed for a while without being fixed; but on the other hand, there isn’t a lot of wiggle room for a solid redesign of this power and the number of issues these powers all have precludes a lot of redesign where one fix will suffice.
