  • Fantasy: D2, DnD, BG3’s Grym Golem, Any class, Multiclass items
  • Best attributes: Thorns, Area Damage, Fire Damage, CDR
  • Gameplay: Heat Metal, Overload Gears, Spray Oil, Steel Punch
  • Dumathoin: Barbarian (Tough as Nails) + Krysbin’s Sentence + Vo’Toyias
  • Steel Punch: Simili-Hack, Area damage, Immobilize (Thorns friendly)
  • Disassemble: Vo’Toyias, 60 yards, cannot be resisted, affects bosses Gears

Observations

  • Any class, but Barbarian seems the way to go (Tough as Nails gives 100% increased Thorns to the player)
  • Maximize Fire Damage, Stone of Jordan will grant you the same buff for Physical Damage.

It’s actually quite interesting. But it would be better if Wrath of the Berzerker could turn you into an IG for several seconds.

Never. :brain: :zap:

Crazy ideas are a necessary step in the inception process. :bulb:

For both fantasy and balance reasons, removing items restrictions (class, min level) strictly depends on being an Iron Golem.

Here is why :

On Base Barbarian

It would be overpowered to grant multiclass items when embodying the regular Barbarian form. All current Barbarian builds would be affected.

On Barbarian Skill

Should the player trigger the power through a Barbarian skill, it would have to re-equip Krysbin’s Sentence + Vo’Toyias on skill activation, which seems painful in terms of gameplay.

On equip

When the belt is equipped, the transformation happens, active skills are replaced, items restrictions are removed and the player can equip multiclass items of any level.
When the belt is removed, the transformation reverses, the player regain its class active skills and all multiclass items are unequipped, fall into inventory or on the ground if no place is left in the inventory.

Conclusion

Make the Iron Golem Shapeshifting happens when the belt is equipped, rather than on-skill activation.
