Roland’s Legacy

Crusader Set
(2) Set: Consecration gains the effects of all its runes. Enemies can enter but not exit Aegis Purgatory. Steed Charge gains the effects of Endurance.
(4) Set: Using Sweep Attack reduces your damage taken by 75% for 15 seconds.
(6) Set: Consecration is now an aura that deals 0.01 additional point of damage for every enemy health points within 24 yards.

Warmonger

Legendary Two-Handed Sword
Sweep Attack no longer costs Wrath and Consecration deals 75% increased damage per burning stack you inflicted within 30 yards.
[50 - 100]%

Inviolable Faith

Legandary Flail
When your consecrated aura hits an enemy, Fervor triggers with 4 stacks.
[2 - 6]

The Star of Azkaranth

Fire skills deal [20 - 30]% more damage. (Guaranted affix roll)

Explainer

Fantasy: Holy Fire, Incineration, Purification
Best attributes: Area Damage, Attack Speed
Gameplay: Run and Burn
Roland 2p: Aegis Purgatory is a trap for enemies
Roland 4p: 75% damage reduction for 15 seconds after attacking with Sweep Attack
Roland 6p: The Aegis Purgatory is now a permanent trap centered on you
The more sum of enemies health points, the more damage you deal
The less sum of enemies health points, the less damage you deal
Roland 2p + Roland 6p: Consecration aura captures and drags enemies as you move
Similar to the S27 Barbarian power: « Whirlwind pulls in and holds all enemies »
Roland 2p + Consecration: Every 1s, hits with Bed of Nails + Shattered Ground
Inviolable Faith: Consecration aura hit = 6 x Fervor = +90 AS +90% CDR = Permanent Fire Starter
Fire Starter: Dmg burns (Consecration Aura: 1 stack every 1s + Sweep Attack: 1+1 stack every attack)
Warmonger: Increased Consecration damage per burning stack (Sweep Attack +90% AS helps a lot)
Azkaranth: Elemental fantasy. Do the same with Aranoch / Julia / Mara / Xephirian amulets

This is the one i don’t like. It’s too complicated.

Added an imgur link as imgBB seems to encounter downtimes.

Fair point, it is hard to explain in simple words.

Don’t have time to propose an alternative, I switched on another crazy proposal :stuck_out_tongue:

All your proposed reworks are awful but this one is the worst one by far, which is impressive

lol
Since when does 1 - 10 = 90 ?
Even if it did, which, uh ??
Enemies have quadrilions of HP, you have a million (if you play safe). 1 quadrillion is 1e15. 1 million is 1e6. 1e15/1e6 = 1e9
Given your absurd math, you’d be looking at not 90% (that’s 1e1), not 99% (1e2), not 99.99 (1e4), NOT 99.99999 (1e7) but 99.9999999% damage reduction.

uh so from explanation if enemies have a total of 1000 HP (let’s say 10 enemies of 100 HP), your consecration would do 1000 damage to every enemies in range ?
That’s an interesting way to phrase “one shot all enemies around you”.

:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Good catch.

Obviously it was meant to be:

1-(1000/100)% = 90%

As 1-(10%) = 90%

Fixed in the main post, thanks. :+1:
(4) Set: Your damage taken is reduced by a percentage equal to 1 minus the percentage of the combined enemies health within 50 yards divided by your health.
If enemies have 10x more HP: 1-enemies/you = 1-(1000/100)% = 90% damage reduction
If enemies have 10x less HP: 1-enemies/you = 1-(100/1000)% = 10% damage reduction

But like Indian said:

As no one gets the idea on a first read.

Yes, the set is designed to make you immortal, but only when you face stronger enemies.

I consider dying as a gameplay friction, if not a punitive action against the player.

It could be possible to add a threshold, by removing a flat 10%, so the 4 pieces bonus would be capped at 90% no matter what.

Hopefully enemies have lots of resistances, so they will never be that brittle.

Several mitigations exist:

 • 0.1 additional point
 • for every 100 enemy health point
 • …etc.

Numbers are always adjusted before release.

What is interesting is the intended effect.

The sentence is designed to count the enemies health pool rather than the number of enemies.

Counting the enemies health pool is interesting.

This way, the 6 pieces can handle any situation:

 • Lots of weak enemies (Trashes)
 • A mix of middle and weak enemies (Trashes + Elites)
 • A single powerful enemy (Rift Guardian)

The number of enemies has no influence on the damage (Excepted Area damage, but this is another story)

Players would be able to hand a single enemy just as any other situation.

In comparison, the flawed design of Death Nova / Bloodtide Blade tells me being able to handle single enemies as hords of monsters is important to get a good experience

Wat is the radius? there’ has to be a limit too. How about 10% DR for each enemy inside Consecration up to… uhm… 60%? 70% maybe? That’s easyer. Atleast to understand. And don’t give penalty at all, I allready hate to use Squirt’s.

Player would be defenseless against single enemies like Rift Guardian.

“Max bonus is automatically applied for bosses and rift guardians”.

Damn dude, you doubled down uh.
(1000/100)% = 10%
(10000/100)% = 100%
1-1 = 0% damage reduction ?

Enemies never had any resistances. That’s why you can easily math out your expected damage dealt and get the exact same value when you hit a mob.
Sure you can tune it but then it becomes a set that sucks for anything but gr150.

This↓

Or could be an alternative skill against single enemie DR effect.

:upside_down_face:

Variable damage reduction might not be a good idea, afterall.

Main post updated :+1:

(4) Set: Using Sweep Attack reduces your damage taken by 75% for 15 seconds.

(6) Set: Consecration is now an aura that deals 0.01 additional point of damage for every enemy health points within 24 yards.

I simplified by granting a constant damage reduction percentage after using Sweep Attack, which is also necessary to increase damage.

What do you veteran players think of this proposal ?

That’s a crazy one… I need expertise, as I don’t master all classes.
