I know this upcoming season is about soul shards but why does the image in the release post depict ethereal weapons (Grandfather and Occy)? I’m sure it’s just an oversight. I guess Blizzard doesn’t care about minor details like this anymore.
Looks like they took the image from S24 Ethereal Memory post. They can’t even us the right images to depict the correct season themes anymore.
They’ve had a handful of copy and paste typos since the seasons started cycling. Not to mention, the game is out of development now, so it’s likely just one person, copying some old article, pasting it, making some minor changes to fit the new season, and missing a couple things.
It’s not that surprising. The game is retired. There’s no dedicated D3 team anymore. It’s now low priority along with all the other retired games. So they very likely are not concerned about the occasional text and/or graphic mistake. Whoever put it together isn’t exclusively dedicated to D3.
It’s just a picture. I’m more puzzled that I don’t see any notification about the ending of the current season?
They may not need it anymore. With no PTRs, it may just be assumed to always be the Sunday before the season start.
imagine having no pride in your work. blizzard is embarrassing.
The pride is likely in the individual’s primary work load, not in retired D3.
S36 is a repeat of S24 so everything but the theme will be the same as S24.
Some would say S25 is more correct

Sorry, I must have missed “so everything but the theme” … it’s a warm day here.
Of course we didn’t have the Altar and Visions of Enmity back then in 24.
If you read the S36 preview blog post carefully they mention S24 when presenting Haedrig’s Gifts by accident as well. So probably they lift everything from the S24 blog and changed the number on the logo only.
There is actually a bit of editing in the S36 blog post compared to S24. Like in the Season Journey Rewards section. So it’s not a direct copy. Not that I fancy nitpicking this subject.
The season will be what it is regardless of what picture they use in the announcement.
A few days after release no one will care if they even cared before.
I would be a bit more picky when choosing/picking your battles to post on.
