DO NOT FINISH BEFORE SEASON START IF YOU WANT TO USE THE CACHE FOR LEVELING OR THE ALTAR
Monk this time around.
AMERICAS/CONSOLE
This is a Wave of Light LoD combination this time. The culprit is that you have Stone Gauntlets in the build and to counter their negative effect you need to have Epiphany all the time. To make this happen there is Ring of the Zodiac in the build, so try to keep Epiphany always available.
In my playthrough I also had some strange lags, or Epiphany was not “working” correctly.
Otherwise it’s a simple playthrough.
EUROPE:
Sunwuko based Wave of Light this time around.
Most important thing you need to keep up is Sweeping Wind. Use other skills for defense/utility if needed.
The EU one is one of the easiest if not the easiest CR i’ve ever seen.
PRO Tip: change your abilities before you start, if you’re like me and you want to have dash on 2 and wave of light on right click. The rift itself is a walk in the park
If you replied to my question…i meant ethereal weapon on challenge rift. It has happened before… then the challenge rift becomes pretty much unplayable…
I did. Nothing delineating the context in the post itself. Now, if you meant to say whole thread, yeah.
Yeah, sorry about that. The question of whether the seasonal items carry over to non season happens enough that I went on autopilot when I saw your question.
I have not run this week’s Challenge Rift yet. But, I did just enter the Challenge Rift Hub and the Monk still has the Ethereal Bartuc’s Cut-Throat Greater Talons equipped.
I’ve always disliked challenge rifts granting insane boosts to season starts. Should just be a side novelty that has nothing to do with anything else.
That said, for US, just keep Epiphany up, as stated, or you’re basically dead. For those wondering why you keep being slowed and then stop completely … it’s the stone gauntlets. As stated, negate this by keeping Epiphany up.
I’ve found you can generally keep it up by just running from champ pack to champ pack. Don’t even need to group things all up. Just snipe champs from afar with WoL, and snipe large packs otw to level 3. Build is squishy so better to avoid close fights. Snipe the champ packs, and rush through to the 3rd floor where it’s easy to spam kill everything in sight. Should have plenty of time if you’re keeping Epiphany up.
Earlier the CR boost was quite insane, but I’d say today it’s not insane after introduction of altar (no level limit in items) and visions (better change for leg drops - good for softcore at least). Only some tens of minutes saved if player is willing to adapt.
Challenge rift is completely different by the code base. It seems more like to the leaderboard than seasonal play so ethereals wasn’t deleted (and couldn’t be). Also CR can contain all of this shards, ethereals, sanctified and 4th slot simultaneous due to that.
Well, my issue with it isn’t the boost itself; it’s the activity one must do for the boost. CRs have nothing to do with the character you’re creating. You learn what is usually purposefully built to be annoying. Then you trip on shoelaces all the way through it, to never touch such the silly character again. Some people can’t get through it too. Which means their season start is at the least, stalled. It’s demoralizing, and also pointless.
It only makes sense as a separate side novelty people can do for leaderboards. Mandated meta season starts shouldn’t include this nonsense.
This is a pretty straightforward Jade Harvester build. Play it as an Elite hunting build.
You don’t even need to focus to much on 6pc bonus (using Soul Harvest on a pack), as the 2pc bonus will decimate the elites on it’s own.
However, still keep Soul Harvest bonus up for damage and defense.
EUROPE:
Pretty straightforward Spirit Barrage Mundunugu build this time around.
I recommend playing it as an Elite Hunter build. The build includes Ring of Emptiness, so be sure, to have Locust Swarm on Elites and the Rift Guardian-
Otherwise blast through with Spirit Barrage.
