Per PezRadar on the D4 live chat today.
yeah baby yeaaaahhhhh!!! im totaly happy to hear it!
really excited how they balanced builds. D3 is a special game, coming back every season is fun xd
Hell, itâs about time.
It is sad that this will be the last PTR notes for D3. I do not care what the D3 haters say I had a great time with D3 for 11 years. It was the best money I ever spent for 11 years of entertainment.
Get your hip waders ready⌠I have a feeling there will be a river of tears flowing through the forum over a change note or two.
What makes you think this is the latest patch?
No more new season themes post s29. Per Wowhead interview development efforts will be going to D4.
no new season themes, yes, but its not about patchs.
My comment was about PTR notes, why would they need PTRs if they are no longer adding any new content?
If they are doing any substantial balance changes, theyâll want some free beta testing from the masses before it goes live. Lessens the chances of anything substantially wrong being overlooked.
Plus, ya know⌠One last visit to Djank Miâem.
Not to mention - Altar of Rites + other Seasonal Theme (like Ethereals) interaction? Could be necessary to test stuff⌠well, unless they ironed it out already.
to maintain interest in the game! they just need to add numbers and properties to some items, easy.
Isnât it no more new themes post S29 (S30 starts the recycling)?
Edit: Went back to check:
Season 29 and beyondâthis Season sets the bedrock for the gameâs future and introduces our final brand-new theme.
Season 30 will bring fresh gameplay balances and bug fixes to reinvigorate your adventures but introduce no new theme.
It appears that S30 is just going to be Rites of Sanctuary again with the difference being itâs available in all modes, kind of like how the follower overhaul âseasonâ was for all modes.
No new content doesnât mean testing isnât necessary. Even balance changes need testing. Untested balance changes have been implemented before and it backfired immensely.
Two of the best features they added to the game follower revamp and the altar.
Yeppers!
Since Season 29 is the âbedrockâ, or âfoundationâ, whatever⌠That tells me that Visions of Enmity will be permanent. So Season 30 will be the first âtheme amalgamationâ of Visions of Enmity + Altar of Rites (modified)⌠And maybe some other hotly debated âchangesâ that came with Season 29.
I would not be surprised if the SoH is removed with all of the complaining about the gem stone from last season.
Adjusting the drop rate for GG would work just as well. Itâs not undoable but farming that gemstone feels like a chore and thatâs just BS. Especially if it becomes a recurring task because you need to unlock the altar in new every season. That would be more obnoxious than doing set dungeons for the season journey.
