Every weapon has a elemental type on its damage roll. Just reroll it to poison and it works. Look up on leaderboards of classes that have no poison and you’ll find examples of it in use.
That’s 100 AR, where else are you going to get that without gear sacrifice? That’s a pretty massive mitigation bonus which in the end gearing would be better than 1k Vit (correct me if I’m wrong)
1k vitality >>>> 100 ar. Not even close to being equivalent.
Either way. I expected that this item would adhere to the smart loot mechanics prevalent across the game. A smart loot roll giving me 1k dex (dex and strength directly translates to armor and 1k dex=1k armor) or 1k vitality would have been not only more useful to a dex-based class but in line with the overall game philosophy.
To go against the grain in this 1 situation without good cause and explanation of the philosophy beforehand, comes across as a major failure. It’s more likely a screw up than intentional, but on the off chance it was intentional… Blizz, you screwed up.
But shards can be used for up to 125 augments?
Just love how people complain about seasons so soon after it starts…apparently forgetting we’ll be doing this for another 4 or so months
All Prime Evil Shards already grant 23-25% maximum life when equipped. If you have 4k+ vitality, that’s pretty much a 1k vitality boost already. Having 1000 int stat is still an extra 100 resistance to all and 1000 dex/str is still 1000 armor. So you think having 100 resistance on top of 25% max life is garbage? You just have a 50/50 chance to get something good from each upgrade and even when it looks like a bad deal, it’s still a huge boost.
You can still use them for augments if you don’t like them. If your DH is weak, you’ll make use of defensive stats much better by equipping it. When you hit modicum amount of paragon level and optimized gear, then you won’t be needing it anymore and you can safely use it to augment something. You just supposed to keep what you got until you got something better.
And Primals can be scrapped for shards, but no one is happy with their Nailbiter primals.
Augments are great but it comes to a point, rather quickly, that embers are just seen as 1/3 of an augment. A lot of the feedback so far comes down to people liking the alternative augment system but not so much the shard. This is valuable feedback by the community that hopefully Blizzard uses going forward.
Well, it’s like people are expecting to be perfectly geared within the first week… or is it the first few days…?
