Staff of hearding:
It is stupid decision making like this why I’m not pre-ordering D4. I hated this grind and was happy to leave it in the past.
Ramaladni’s Gift:
In the past, I’ve gone about 3 weeks to nearly a month into a season, before seeing my first Rama and it was a donation by another player who was on his 9th.
250 Forgotten Souls:
Yes lets just throw 250 of these away. /sarcasm
Ancient Puzzle Ring, 300 Forgotten Souls, Any Augmented Weapon:
How about 11 days of Chinese water torture. Sounds like fun. /sarcasm
This reminds me of Jackie Chan, in a Kung Fu flick, carrying buckets of water up a slippery hill, to then pour the water into a man made trench, go back down the hill and repeat.
Oh and the real cherry on top. Arcane Power On Crit. How many years has this been requested along with requests for reworks of the skills/runes. So the last season before D4? Really fellas??
Did the devs run out of “fun” ideas or is this suppose to be a carefully constructed bot test obstacle course or one of those social experiments with rats?
It is possible the order of sacrifices or, hopefully more so, the chain of nodes will differ in live than PTR but there are definitely ones where things seem reversed.
Personally I’m looking forward to season 28. The first 14 are very easy to get. The rest are not that important unless you want to get all of them and get your wings, which I will definitely try. You don’t want these to be too easy or it would be much of a challenge. Just my thoughts.
Agree @Argos. I am not someone who cares to grind 4K paragon, or who really cares about t he leader boards, so this season theme actually gives me a reason to play longer after completing the usual season journey.
I love love love the grind introduction. It’s optional, so move along if you don’t like it. Don’t try to ruin an aspect of the game other players enjoy.
I only play about 3 weeks on average, and aside from Ancient Puzzle Ring, I dont see any of them being so difficult i’d go far out of my way to get them. I did staff of herding in 3 seasons, I dont recall anytime it being longer then an hour. Guess RNG favored me according to these forums. With 2x bounty mats, the puzzle ring shouldnt be hard either.
@Argos:
None of this is hard it is tedious… not a labor of love. For those running their usual bots to farm mats none of this matters. For those with no life, who share accounts, and run in very organized teams none of it matters. I appreciate the analysis, but will that be fun knowing that:
this is will most likely last a single season
even if it is made permanent, it will most likely be the last season before D4 and the mass exodus of 98% of the player base
Come on bro. I don’t salivate just because I hear a bell.
Are you ready for the next comedian?.. coming to the stage…
Guys, I’m not trying to deny your fun. Enjoy yourself.
Bearing in mind the power creep in present game and the strength of the s28 theme, even with just a few powers of the altar unlocked, a lot of the farming will be quite easy even for casual players. Playing a month without getting a Ramaladni’s indicates doing something “wrong”, hardly playing at all, playing at a low level with a poorly set up build etc.
No Jazz. I was playing good builds on Wiz and DH at the time. I was farming T-16 and GR90-110. Some solo and some grouping. I collected 250 GRs and I had amassed 40+ T-16 bounty caches in prep for:
spamming Kadala for ancients
mass item re-rolling and crafting at the cube
I had 2 very good ancient weapons on Wiz and 1 on DH but no Rama’s. A player took pity on me and passed a rama to me. I went on to burn 100+ GR keys solo with 1 rama dropping, which is after getting a pity rama passed to me. Of course over the next few days of farming I got a second rama to drop. So, no I wasn’t fully decked out farming T-7 and GR 40’s. At the time everyone was like “its RNGesus”, “have you tried prayer”, “less fwappin’ and moar farmin”, and “I get like 9 to 10 a day Blizz should lower the drop rate”… and many more clown ### jokes… don’t be one of these guys Jazz.
Yellow 70 item won’t mean anything if it can’t be modified at the mystic, upgraded at the cube, or modded with the Gem of Ease. I’ve been away from the game for quite a long time so please correct me if I’m wrong.
I may not have time to acquire and finish everything but I’m glad they’re taking their time to include many tasks for the player like this. Usually once players finish Season Journey in a week’s notice, they leave to never come back.
What would you do if this Season were to turn out to be another mindless power creep? You would get on the forums and complain when the next season gonna start or whine that you have nothing left to do this season once Season Journey ends. This is why we have some folks here joking about “quitting” or complaining about leaderboards, then threatening to quit so fondly and boldly.
Altar of Rites is the only huge power creep demanding you to hit up at least until GR110 and collect very rare drops such as Dungeon parchments or Staff of Herding. That would at least shut people up for a while. When someone speaks that they got bored this season, people gonna ask them if they have finished all the Altar pieces first. It will be fun. Everyone will quit, never gonna answer what was the real reason but you always can guess.
You might want to read the PTR notes. The 2nd sacrifice on the altar removes level requirements. Normally on season launch we would use a CR cache to craft and roll a level 70 weapon with reduced level requirement and equip the weapon somewhere above level 40. Now it’s looking like that can happen at VERY low levels, if you claim the cache. It is an interesting tradeoff since the CR cache is also a sacrifice on the tree.
Or your friend/alt claims the cache and makes one for you, bling bling.
