Hmmm, everything has to be defined in the end though, you don’t want a legendary go be so vague it loses its uniqueness.

I am based on D2 experience - there were RW that were must have in specific slot/build. There were so powerfull that there was no alternative Uniq item to replace it in most of the cases.

I hear this often in regards to runewords in D2. No one ever seems to complain about it like they do about legendaries and sets in D3 being must have for certain builds.

D2 Runewords >>> D4 Runewords

D2 Runewords allowed you to choose your own base to create a legendary/unique item.

D4 Runewords are an interesting concept, but it feels weird. Maybe you also can have runewords in a charm or talisman, separate from normal item RW’s.
