so regardless of the idea, that lower tier items could have more than 2 sockets, should runes be stackable?
like, when you have this combination ELD (when CCed) THUL (500 damage shield)
and you put it on 2 items, will you get a 1000 damage shield, when you are CCed?
i think it should be possible to stack those effects, to specialize in certain playstyles and not just catch em all, which would become really trivial again
How do you suppose it would work for say, chance to crit? greater than 100% chance to crit essentially being impossible?
I suppose it depends on the effect but sure, why not?
well for the case of crit chance, its questionable, if you are supposed to reach 100% but if you do, it would just be “bad”, to stack it further because it would have no effect
imo, the runes should show the effect, when they are stacked on your gear
so having ELD THUL 2 times, should read like
“gain a 1000 damage shield, when you get CCed”
when you unequip 1 of the items, it automatically goes back to 500
and also when you have different conditions with the same effects they should stack but its harder to display in this case
so lets say, you get a 500 shield when you drink a potion and you get a 1000 shield when you get CCed, you could get both 500 and then 1000 shortly after another and you will have a 1500 shield
Wait what? Customization allows for bad decision making? no fair !!! no fair!!!
just kidding. With the uproar against their new rune system I wouldn’t be surprised if they change it. Although I like it quite a bit. With the potential of working with more than 2 sockets total that is.
oh noes, game allows me to be no epic! this bad D:
yea i also like the idea
it allows a lot of personal customization and it can always be improved and expended with little effort
I also like where they are going with the rune system. But I hope that we can have more than 2 rune combos. As of now there is a trigger rune and an effect rune. Maybe they can add modifier runes that change some aspects of the effect rune. Although balancing that would be incredibly difficult.
They could also go the PoE coming skill socket route, where all gears have specific item slot’s and the rune page is separate to the gear. Which makes gear swapping easier. You wouldn’t have to fiddle with your runes every time you find better gear.
