RORG As Emanate

I know this kinda beating a dead horse but I wholly support the idea of RORG as an emanate. It would free up a cube slot since it’s basically used in every build, building a follower seems to be more about utility and helping your character than actual damage, etc which is fine and I love the idea Nem bracers, Cain, and Sage is great but would love to have a bit more diversity in the cube instead of always slotting a RORG to be competitive in any end game build. I don’t know how true it is and if it is that we’re losing the 4th cube slot I’d like to toss my hat in the ring to support keeping that slot as well, it’s lead to so many fun builds that weren’t really all that possible before.

As a side note you could also make the cube able to slot ANY Item in the 3 slots instead of the predetermined.

I support this. I think MOST of the emanate items are seriously terrible or pointless, but things like RoRG, goldwrap, convention of elements, etc. would be nice. Non-class specific but still gameplay assisting legendries should be added to the pool.

yes the 5 things the follower need’s to help out so much in builds for solo would be the Flavor of Time , Nemesis Bracers , RoRG, goldwrap, convention of elements , about 80% to 90% of builds that aren’t OP have a Dmg problem or a Def problem and with this we could at least put something on are Char to fix the dmg or def problems  plz Devs think about it

I agree. It allows me to use sage and blackthorne. I hope in the future, followers can have their own weapons or armor, just to make things more interesting for the affix until Diablo 4 comes out. That’s assuming that we will be able to equip followers after the season. I think I’ve heard that is the goal.

The original post for the follower revamp was that it is a permanent change to the game, not just a seasonal feature.

The follower benefits from RoRG. This is pretty major. For utility, it will change a good chunk of early to mid game.

What emanates right now? I will put down some of the most important (to me).

Sage set. It lets you get DB with a good amount of ease with no loss of power. This by itself would make the current setup very good.

Cain’s set. More GR key drops with, one again, no power loss. A nice bonus. And yes, since RoRG works on the follower, you can have both sets active at once.

Gloves of Worship. Very long lasting buffs with, no loss to the player’s character.

Flavor of Time. Having this one on the emanate list is so massive, by itself, it would be worth having the follower have emanate.

Avarice Ring. No powerful per se, but extremely nice. It lets you not worry about gold pickup and benefits some skills.

Spaulders of Zakara. A nice benefit since, when pushing, you are likely to die a lot.

There are others that are more build eccentric, such as Dovu. But it is already very good and potentially too good considering how much it would help early on and even later.

The follower can equip it for you. Put RoRG on the follower as well and Cain’s is in the bonus list.

Lets not be greedy here. It’s awesome enough that it works on the follower as a non emanate item. The items that do emanate are more than anyone could ask for at the moment.

I know people want to throw the sink at this concept but lets take baby steps. What we have right now with FoT and Nems, as well as the farming sets is freaking amazing and easily adding many GR’s to every single build and making key/DB farming insanely easy.

I think asking for more items at this point is pushing to hard we don’t want them to nerf the system before we get a chance to really enjoy it as it is right now.

If things need to be fixed then absolutely post it but just asking for more at this time seems like a bit much.

I wouldn’t mind RoRG having the emanate feature. Atleast for S22 and going into S23/NS. Most people want to see 4th cube slot stick around, be permanent. RoRG would help with this a bit. Atleast in S22 we got to see alot of build variety and diversity. Atleast for DH / GoD, it was because we could cube RoRG almost no matter what. But now DH is basically going to lose a lot of it’s builds, or atleast GoD6CC3 (captain crimsons), the build will no longer be able to cube Hunters Wrath + Depth Diggers since CC3 has to equip captain crimson belt. GoD6AA3 (Aughilds) will be weaker too because it loses Convention of Elements / Mantle of Channeling. RoRG also made N6GoD4 a bit more viable.

So overall, DH/GoD alone pretty much loses 1-3 builds, not entirely, but they basically are all nerfed as a whole from losing RoRG / 4th cube which simply made the builds atleast somewhat viable…But the biggest one is GoD6CC3 because it had so much potential for early characters / low paragon to help with CDR problems.

Nothing is being “nerfed” from losing the 4th cube slot. It was only a seasonal theme and it never applied to non seasonal characters.

God DH wasn’t “somewhat viable” because of the 4th cube slot. GoD DH was one of the most powerful builds in the game before the 4th cube slot. What’s Killing God DH now is not the loss of the 4th cube slot, but the massive nerf to HA that only applies when wearing the GoD set.

The 4th Cube slot was nice, but the followers changes are much better. Put RorG on your character, because FOT now emanates from your follow. You’ve got that jewelry slot freed up now.

Another change that is being overlooked that is massive is the new Enchantress spell that gives 10% CDR. That’s more CDR than any ring or item slot sans the weapon.

All I was saying, as you highlighted it, was that my impression of the nerf was in the form of GoD losing build variety and diversity. That’s all. Between straight GoD6, GoD6CC3, GoD6AA3, N6GoD4…All of which were playable and viable builds for the most part, maybe aside from N6GoD4.

N6GoD4 isn’t exactly a viable, competetive, push build because you can’t use Focus/Restraint, therefore losing tons of dmg. But atleast with the 4th cube slot you could use elusive ring / CoE, mantle of channeling, in a build that is already passively tanky as hell.

GoDCC3 won’t be viable anymore because you can’t cube both Hunters Wrath and Depth Diggers, because you have to equip captain crimsons belt.

GoD6AA3 is still playable but you lose CoE, which is pretty much a staple item for almost all builds in the game.

That leaves…straight GoD6…Not including other builds such as UE6 HA or other primary abilities, and M6 HA or other primary abilities…But who really plays them other than DiEoxide and dmkt?

And as for the current nerf to GoD6 HA pierces. This breaks us down to the level of other current DH builds. it doesn’t bring other builds up in level to be competitive with GoD6. It’s counter-productive.

You argue that GoD6 was “one of the most powerful builds in the game” even before the 4th cube slot. You’re right. for all of 1-2 seasons. Supposely because of “Missile Dampening”. And now as it is on PTR, it’s one of the weakest builds…Not just builds, but class as a whole, in the game along with WD’s…Once again, as it’s been forever.

Also to note…Just like before GoD6 was implemented into the game. UE Multishot was already one of the most popular builds in the game, but the skill level is so high to be competitive that most people can’t push with it. Same could be same with M6 Multishot before it got nerfed (snapshot potion bug), even though M6 was easier to play for some because it’s passively more tankier. Automatically it makes these 2 builds for unpopular, typically because you need to learn how to stutterstep effectively. Not a very user friendly mechanic in order to play a build. Just using this as an example as any relevance between UE MS, M6 MS and UE/MS HA…People simply wont be able to push with it cause of the high ceiling skill level involved.

They probably plan to keep the good stuff trickling over the next 5 seasons to always have something “new”. Rorg, COE, Zodiac, F&R,…

Would love to see RoRG be added, I see no reason not to do it. Sadly, we’re very unlikely to get it in time for this season as I think the devs have their hands full just bug fixing these new changes.

Wish they would expand their team, they’ve been doing so many things right past couple years but are so limited in resources we don’t get all the changes we can hope for.

If Bliz/D3 went the route for example of…PoE, or LoL…Game developers that regularly care for their game and customers, and implement regular balance changes on a regular basis. And I don’t see why they couldn’t have done that seeing as how Blizzard is one of the top gaming developers in the industry…Or was anyhow…They most definitely have the funding and resources to be able to maintain D3, atleast until D4 comes out.

If even they had attempted to maintain D3 better in terms of releasing more contents, expansions…This would have made it even more viable. But this is the state of the game we’re left with, with Bliz not allocating more resources to D3, to help maintain it’s player base. They’ve simply failed to keep the game interesting to keep players hooked to it. And I think everything we see being implemented up to this point is still just damage control from BlizCon (2018?) with Diablo: Immortal being announced and prioritizing that over D4, and nothing for D3 during that time.
