Why? Because every build use legendary gems, maybe they could put ramaladni to work on rings and amulets too? That way we still will need to farm.
Making Ramaladni’s Gift add sockets for rings and amulets has been asked for years same as crafting materials auto picked up by pets. Blizz doesn’t care what you want, they do whatever they want and you can either adapt and play the game or not.
Adding an extra primary to rings is potentially too powerful. If they coded the gift to replace a primary with a socket while still being able to enchant a ring or amulet as needed would be the optimal solution unless they changed all jewelry to have a socket mandatory.
Sad but true, im one of those people that asked pet changes too and we got nothing… Something easy to change that would make gameplay better!
I don’t think it would amount to too much compared to really optimized characters now. Imp DHs for example might be able to grab more attack speed or area damage, but that would probably only amount to a small boost in GR potential.
I disagree. There are 13 item slot that yield 4 primary affixes (=52 total not including orange text and set bonuses.). Having gifts apply to jewelry would only be 1-3 extra primary affixes depending on if applied to amulets or rings or both. Since we have 52 already primary affixes alreadt, this mathematically is a very small change in power.
I never said I was against Gifts adding sockets to rings and amulets… I support this idea ever since Rama Gifts were added to game, same with picking up all crafting materials including uber organs, grift keys or infernal machines by “loot pets”.
Sorry my post was directed at Khord. I misclicked who the reply was to.
It’s irrelevant how small it would be. It’s still power creep. More importantly it’s unnecessary power creep.
Guaranteed sockets on all jewelry is much much better solution than making Ramaldni’s Gifts work on jewelry.
For the record, I am good with either option.
I have never been upset with power creep either. Am I missing the reason for the outrage?
Unnecessary power creep is unnecessary. It adds nothing, changes nothing.
What difference does it make whether an attack does 100k or 100 gazillion damage if the target loses relatively equal amount of health? Absolutely nothing! Bloating numbers up is completely meaningless. It merely gives an illusion of progress even though there is no progress at all.
That’s what making Ramaladni’s Gifts to work on jewelry does. It may provide only one extra primary affix on each item but they still merely bloat numbers up unnecessarily.
If power creep does nothing as you claim, why are you concerned about the difference in having at most 3 additional primary affixes when all characters already have 52? The significane of 3 primary affixes are minimal at paragon level 0 and are further marginalized due to paragon levels, item augments, and massive mutipliers on sets.
The only reason we have gazillion damage numbers is because Blizz made monsters with gazillion HP, if they scaled it right thtere wouldn’t be such a headache with balancing everything, but I guess they like mobs with 9,999,999,999,999,999,999 or more HP on them…
Normally I would not agree with this, but after playing since launch, and never ever got a good necklace it seems like there is something completely wrong with this specific drop. They all drop terrible on purpose.
Want a socket on your amulet? Go to the Enchantress and roll a socket.
Seriously, which primary on a Travelers Pledge or Compass Rose would you like to permanently give up for having a guaranteed socket on each drop?
If you have an answer for that, then that is the stat you choose to roll off. Problem resolved.
Not give up, add a permanent socket or make gifts add 1 and Kirottu stop with that “powah creep” or “2 powahful” Bull Shiet, cause you sound ridiculous…
You want to make this game into an endless Paragon Grind with progress that will take you years to even get to 7 or 8k para not to mention 10k without botting or cheating…
Most of you NEVER played D2 LoD or played it after WoW. WoW brainwashed you and now if you don’t take forever to achieve your goal than everything is wrong for you. Maybe I’m wrong, cause I never played WoW, cause I have no idea where that kind of thinking comes from, definately not from a D2 LoD player. Seriously in D2 LoD you could reach level 99 on CBN a lot faster even with bad items just by doing Baal runs.
Because the three extra affixes would be the ones possible on jewellery, i.e. CHC, CHD, AS, AD. Currently, jewellery can be trifecta, i.e. if it rolls naturally with a socket and two damage affixes you can roll off the main stat into a third damage affix. Ramaladni’s being able to affect jewellery would allow you the possibility of three quadfecta items, e.g. you could add another 60% Area Damage, 21% Attack Speed, and so on.
For The Compass Rose I’d gladly sacrifice the guaranteed Movement Speed roll on that ring. There are other examples like Life on hit on RoRG, Attack Speed on Krysbin’s Sentence and Wisdom of Kalan…
From the guy proposing a single legendary be reworked to include 25 different attributes based on class/skill choices…pot meet kettle??
An early game TP with movement speed is a pretty nice find.
