Rhyker "We're Not Doing It. "Diablo II:Resurrected

Or maybe they just like to play games for the games sake and don’t cheat.

Ah yes, the 80% of games during the beta where people were collaboratively running trist/tombs, and grinding out entire acts together. By the way, this was extremely common in D2LOD across the decade or so that I played it online.

These are easily detectable and will get you banned. People running pickit back in the day didn’t last long. Even those that ran it went a huge obstacle. Easy enough to work around.

The entire nature of FFA is that it prevents racketeering and oligarchy. What sort of unfair trades are you referring to? The only time I ever saw this in D2LOD was when someone was trying to find a sucker. If you actually wanted to trade items, you had to do so at market prices.

If you can’t get items without cheating or buying them, you really are a terrible player. Not having items also does not force anyone to quit. Your logic is terrible. You start the game with no items. You level up and potentially still have no items, or any worth mentioning… And can clear the entire game this way. So, even if the economy was jank, which it wasn’t terribly, you aren’t forced to quit. Most of my characters use self found items, or things found on another character. Never had a problem obtaining gear, ever. Apparently you don’t know how to get gear.

There is no oligarchy. Go back to reading Marx and being angsty, Ragnar the Red. Don’t bring down the wrath of the fair lass Matilda on your argument’s head… (Homage to Skyrim)

You don’t get it at all do you. Where you even there? Did you see what happened to D2 back in the day? I did. I have never had an account at d2jsp and I never will.

It’s not often that I sympathize with a corporate executive, but in this case, I actually pity this guy.
When are we going to get it through our heads that, we are being given a tremendous gift, from Blizzard?
They didn’t have to make D2:R. Why should they even listen to us? I can only assume that some of them missed the ‘Olden Days!’

wait so your argument is that less items will be in the economy with personal loot? That is the complete opposite of what everyone has been complaining about so far i like it.

anyway that scenario is possible but it’s just as likely someone picks up the item in FFA and vendors the item without anyone knowing at the end of the game or at the start of another game.

why would items drop for people not on the screen with the monsters? and again this is a less items in the economy scenario.

as for both the less pick ups scenarios, if people weren’t in public games with personal loot the most likely alternative would be private games so those same people who didn’t pick up the loot in a public game would also be not picking up that same loot in private so the items never would have made it to the economy in the fist place at least in a public game there is a chance someone does pick it up once it goes ffa in private games its gone forever.

Because you still get the exp you need to be more than 2 screens aways for not getting the exp. If you get the exp is reasonable to think that you are in the “loot” radius.

why is that? we don’t know what the loot radius blizzard would decide on would be personally i think that they would choose to make it so you have to see it to get it, also is that 1 screen away from current aspect ratio or former aspect ratio? because those are vastly different.

If you played GD multiplayer, then you had ploot enabled, that’s how the game works. You only see drops which are allocated to you. You don’t see other players’ drops unless they drop items on the ground. The hilarious part is when your inventory is full and you are trying to pickup items, they of course drop again after you click them (as there’s no room in your inventory) and become visible for other players, who can then grab those like in normal FFA.

You get the exp but no items until the time window has passed? Yeah it could happen

It Was 2 screen on LOD i didn’t pay attention on beta honestly so i don’t know if is 2 screens here or less

Did anyone else notice that the OP’s name is the same username that Rod responded to:

“Hey, first, I only said it was a thing that we discussed and if we were ever to do it we would make it an option for the game you create so that people have to opt in to that style. But it’s definitely not happening at launch.” - Rod Fergusson

https://twitter.com/Nortruz/status/1432785713850949633

Clearly, “it” in this response refers to not adding an optional loot system at launch and potentially ever. The “it” in Rod’s later tweets within a few minutes most likely refer back to the first “it” of his 3 tweets.

well, I didnt have it enabled in games I made, and generally I played with friends and we did free loot option, so everyone could see all the drops.

Easier then explaining what all is on the ground for me, specially when the loot filters really ez to setup in GD so I frankly, dont see greens and most blues anymore, a lot of the loot in BG is clutter unless you need the iron from selling it.

If you think that makes sense to you, you do you.

Right, you can toggle instanced loot on and off. Hmm, we never had it off in all my MP runs, lol. Mainly because people agreed from the beginning that we won’t be fighting for loot and rather let the game decide who gets what. You can always just link items of interest in the chat, like in every other game.

Yes you can link items if you see them. BG has a great built in loot filter, which I use pretty heavily. So I dont see greens and bellow, and I only see mystic blues and purples, components and materials.

One of my buddies is one of those guys that wants the perfect rolled greens that can be really powerful.

So its easier, to use free loot, so he can just see if what he wants dropped and not spend 10 minutes, pickup and dropping items or chat linking.

D2JSP was a wonderful tool. It enabled reliable, secure trades of items through a third currency. Even more, you could trade items across realms and game modes, effectively. Good luck trying to facilitate that without a similar tool.

Oh so comments under a Haedrig’s Gift grown up amateur are mostly ploot supporters? Wow. Who would have thought that?

Bahahahahahahahhaha D2jsp is a plague.

Not saying everyone in that community is.
Most are and most are more interested in securing their already made Fg foundations then actually improving anything and they will fight viciously to retain that.

It’s like suggesting a streamer isn’t interested in making money above all else.

JSP should be considered RMT, and anyone caught using it should be banned as cheaters. The end

If it was just an item trading website then that would be fine and you would be quite right. But that’s not what it is… and I would rather delete a 45life lightning sklr or a 3/20/20 than trade it on d2jsp.

Why? It’s the principle of the whole thing

His youtube channel has been around for more than a decade. Below is a link to one of his older youtube videos.

He has been making diablo related videos for years. Haedrig’s gift was not even in the original D3. It was something that was introduced in D3:RoS in season 5. Facts.
