Returning player confusion

So im returning to D3 after a life, cause i had to leave when crusader was a new thing.

I discovered the season thing and something there is misterious.

From what i can see/read, its like another group of character like non-seasonal and hardcore with their separated storage and online groups.

The things are :

  1. what happen to all the set items gained as season rewards? Ive read that character and items move to non seasonl after the season end but if there are 26+ seasons…the big % of the armor sets should be gone cause of lack of space.

  2. If i have only 3 rebirths available…when a new season came out and all my seasonal (supposed 5) move to non-seasonal, am i forced to delete come character if i want to have 1 seasonal per class? (Considered that i wanna keep 1 per class into non-seasonal and 1 seasonal and ghave 10 slots atm)

  3. whats the difference between self solo and normal seasonal? I cant see the dvantage, if not my own ego increasing

  4. is there something that a returning player should know before starting over?

  5. is there a way to get crusade + necro together (maybe with some price sale) without having to get the whole game too?

thanks in advance for the help

Correct, they become non-season.

When I was in this boat, I would delete my old class that I’m starting on season.

Solo self is where you cannot play with others. Someone who plays with others may not see the advantage but it’s similar to hardcore, just a preference playstyle.

Read patch notes. It will map out a lot of what has changed.

The game is relatively cheap right now. There are bundles with both.

All loot will transfer to non-season when the season ends. It’s “mailed” to you, check the mail icon in the lower left corner. You then need to sort them yourself, deciding what to keep and what to scrap.

All gold, mats, etc. are directly added to their respective non-season amounts.

All paragon XP gained will added to non-season. Note that it is XP, not the level that transfer, meaning for example 1k in non-season and 1k in season do not combine to 2k non-season.

Solo mode means you are completely excluded from any form of group play. You are alone, doing everything alone.

It sounds like you only have the Base Game. ROS expansion is needed in order to play Seasons.
Many of the Season quests can only be done in Adventure Mode.
You can earn extra stash tabs, one per Season (max5), when you complete all chapters up to and including Conqueror.
If you purchase one of the bundles, the order will be discounted since you already have the Base Game.

Appears so.

This sound very interesting, its something i should check asap

…and not so happy after the check, buying the bundle with game + 2 expansions only take away 5 euros to the total price…(eternal collection bundles)

I take the better of the Set items and their support items and replace them in non-Season. Then, I salvage the lesser items I replaced.

Rebirthing a non-Season Character moves that Character to Season. It resets that Character to Level 1 with 0 Paragon Points. (A fresh start, retaining total time played). It will remove ALL that Character’s gear and currency and leave it in non-Season.

Tip: If you stash or salvage your non-Season Character’s gear before you Rebirth them, it will save you from having to manage your non-Season in-game mail. Otherwise, you have 30 days to collect all the items your rebirthed Character had equipped and in their Inventory. (Don’t forget about your equipped Potion).

The only time you might need to delete a Character is if your Character Slots are full and you want to Create (not Rebirth) a new Character.

Solo Self-Found Mode has been given its own separate Leaderboard. You cannot play in groups, including Public Games. You can share with other SSF Season Characters on your Account.

For example: I play a Demon Hunter with the Templar Follower. In SSF Season I can create a Barbarian whose sole purpose is to craft, reforge and enchant items specifically for my Demon Hunter’s Follower.

Um…   wow…   Maybe you should just Bookmark the site: Maxroll, D3

And please read through the current Season Blog when it’s posted on the Diablo III Home Page.

You just missed a sale.

As @yessquire stated, if you buy one of the bundles, Blizzard will determine what you already own and you will only pay for any new material that is unlocked.

Note: You already have ALL game content. We all do. It’s just that whatever we haven’t purchased yet is locked out from our version.

Based on current prices (in USD):

Product Price
Diablo III $19.99
Reaper of Souls $19.99
Necro Pack $14.99
Total $54.97

So, if all you own is Diablo III  and you wanted to purchase the Reaper of Souls  Expansion and the Rise of the Necromancer  DLC, you should purchase the Diablo III: Eternal Collection  for $39.99. Blizzard will deduct $19.99 from the purchase.

You would get (Eternal Collection):

Product Price
Diablo III owned
Reaper of Souls bundled $39.99
Necro Pack bundled -$19.99
Total $20.00

i tried with the eternal collection but the total price was 34 and somthing, not 20…dunno if i made something wrong but in the final price page the fact that i owned the base game was noticed, so the 5 euros saved came from there.

i found a site with a good deal for the crusader expansion, and now if i try to buy the eternal collection it moved from 34.99 to 14.99 euros, removing the 20 coming from crusader one on battlenet.

You can always add the Necro pack at a later date. It’s price rarely changes. It is not an Expansion, just an added Class with 2 additional Character Slots.
