I ran into a situation when creating two primordial items, I can’t equip both at once, an error appears “you cannot use more than one item of this type”.
Nowhere in the update did I see information about such a ban.
Is there such a ban and does it only apply to crafted items?

So you completely missed the text that says it quite clearly…
" We have also added a Primal Item recipe to Kanai’s Cube, allowing you to upgrade any non-crafted legendary item to a Primal Item for 100 Primordial Ashes. Only one upgraded Primal Item may be worn at a time and upgraded Primal Items do not retain the properties of the Legendary Item that was used. New affixes are rolled for all upgraded Primal Items."

That’s dumb. They have 100’s of items in the game and we finally have a deterministic way to round out gearing a character and they slap a limit on it? Too much fun detected.
Welp, that concludes the season for me then. Altar is done, I’ve had my fill of the season journey, and 1000 paragon is more than enough for me.
