Requirements to play in hc?

Hi there!

I did not get a chance to beta test because I was away from home and I was wondering if anything is known about the subject of hardcore.

Will it be possible to create HC characters from the first moment or will they force us to go through normal mode again to be able to create them?

Hope it’s unlocked from the start! I think many of us are already too “veterans” of this game to be forced to waste our time on softcore if we want to play hardcore.

I think the requirement to beat it on normal once was removed on patch 1.13, and D2R is technically patch 1.16 if I recall correctly (the open beta, the final release might be patch 1.17). I don’t think they would remove this particular feature when they’re removing limitations like ladder only items rather than adding new ones
