I like to play Diablo 3 “Classic”. Back when D3 was actually hard, leveling to 10 took a few hours instead of few minutes, smart loot didn’t exist, and we had Inferno mode. They only way I can play D3 like this is via console. I have a PS3 instead of an Xbox 360. My request is for Blizzard to port the D3:RoS PS3 install to HDD code to patch 1.03 which is D3 “Classic”, so I can play the game with the assets cached on the HDD instead of playing off the disc. There’s actually quite a few delays in the game when resources are being read off the ODD, so this would be a nice performance bump. Thanks!
Side note: for some reason, D3 took a step backwards from D2. Remember in D2 at character creation one could choose “Expansion character”?
Or…just buy D3 vanilla for PS3?
Or…install D3 RoS on PS3 with no internet connection and thus be on the patch that it came with (if disc based naturally).
The PS3 and PS4 caches quite a lot on the HD, the disc is just used mainly to validate the game.
I have D3 vanilla for PS3, it most certainly uses the disc for everything. For example, upon completing a kill streak there’s a short delay, while the killstreak assets are retrieved and displayed. I also have D3:RoS for PS3, and there is an option in Ultimate Evil edition which allows for installing on the system HDD. I would like that option on the D3:vanilla version as well. Sony is frustrating in that respect as any game since the original Xbox could be installed to HDD for faster load times, but Playstation is pretty bad about that, forcing the developer to allow for installation or not on the system HDD.
Never had an issue with D3 vanilla on PS3 and I played it a lot reaching Paragon 100 with mass Keep Depth runs.
I guess I’m just spoiled with the version that install to HDD on the PS4. I can’t imagine how you don’t notice the lag. Even making a level 1 character and defeating the first mob, has a bit of a pause on the kill.
No def don’t get that, is there perhaps an issue with your PS3 HD or BluRay?
