Remove exp pools

The rise of the pool barb this season is bad for the game. The easiest solution is get rid of exp. pools. They are a cheesy buff anyways.

Remove xp pools? Come on. The things wrong with this game are the lack of character balance and the continued and excessive spread of power creep over the seasons that has turned this game into a greater rift treadmill.

XP pools are more or less fine the way they are, but they should allow them to spawn in solo player GR’s - that’s about the one thing I’d like to see changed. If I had to name something they should remove then it’s the xp buff for multiplayer games. Groups already gain plenty xp for clearing faster and higher content. They don’t need extra spoon feeding.

OP isn’t actually stating what the issue. If only he/she would have stayed in school.

Uhhhh, people like the exp pools, I do not think that Blizzard is going to remove them JUST because you do not like them.

What you are complaining about is the way the game is intended. If all characters were BALANCED, everyone would pick one class and stick with it throughout, get bored, and eventually quit. The way that the game is designed is that every season, there is one class that dominates. The next season, it will be another class. This is intended so that it will give players the opportunity to play different classes and play style. There is also nothing wrong with the increased power as this too gets players wanting to try that new powerful class next season. I do feel that they need to up the GR Cap as 150 is easily achievable now with several classes.

I was just sharing my opinion. If you like running the GR treadmill, that’s great!

Doing something amazingly stupid on purpose does not make it any less stupid.

As for XP pools. Imo change them into something you are not consuming as you gain XP. A permanent buff, until you die. Then they could also simply have a pool at the end up each GRift and Rift for example (or rather, a chance to spawn, based on the GRift/Torment difficulty), adding 4% XP bonus. Stacking 15 times or something. If you die, it resets.
No need to run around finding them.

Pool barb is a degenerate build that asks for a player to forgo his loots just to get more XP. Last time this issue arose, back in S6, it was when no-boss runs were meta. Blizzard nerfed (killed) no boss run.
Pool barb is even worse than no boss runs in my opinion, because only one of the member of the group has to run without loots. Which means someone has to be the “loser” (item wise) in order to increase the XP gain of everybody. Nobody really wants to pool barb, it’s just that it’s the most effective way to get XP. If you do care about XP, you want a pool barb, because it’s the most efficient way to play the game.

The “if you don’t like it, don’t play it” mentality is also false, because if you want to get into good groups, at least one player will expect the barb to be a pool barb, which means if the pool barb isn’t a pool barb, that player will leave, the group gets disbanded and nobody is happy.
Also, once you’ve played with a pool barb, it feels very bad to go without one, because you’re losing a TON of XP (~30% at least, keeping in mind pools double dips on the grift closing).

But there is no difference to that and pool farming 4 player…you want to compete? Then you need xp and pools helps and there will always be a META to get pools and a pool barb does that.

You can easily rotate the barb so everyone gets the loot and takes turns.

But to remove a feature of the game because of it is just nuts.

I agree about pool barbs, but this is more a flaw with pools not spawning in GRs then pools themselves. If pools spawned in GRs (but didn’t heal) I think that would be an improvement to the game while addressing your (in my view, justified) criticism of pool barbs.

I don’t necesserally agree with removing pools altogether. There are many ways to remove pool barbing from the game, one of which is to remove pools. Another one is to automatically give the effect of a pool inside a grift, until you die. Another one is to buff all XP gain by 25% the same way pools do and remove pools. I’m sure there are other ways too.

well you cant close the rift till the pool boy, I mean barb gems.
I assume he’s already using display to find the pools faster, not much harder to get insta crush and insta gamble macros. Maybe it’s not the extra exp that’s the issue.

I’m seeing a pattern in OP’s post and I can’t help but wonder if they’re just trolling.
