Is it just me; am I imaging things? Are we not able to Reforge these items in Kanai’s Cube?
No, we can’t. Uber runs are easy. It may take some to get an ancient for the Altar. This season it took me 24 tries.
The rule is simple: No crafted item can be reforged.
We never could. You’ll just have to keep buying them at the jeweler until you get an ancient one.
Thanks! For some reason, I thought I’d reforged one of these. I did, finally, get it; but it was annoying.
Thanks!
J
Annoying? Hope you will feel less irritated getting the Staff of Herding
Farming keywardens and ubers is simple and with guaranteed results. The only RNG is at Covetus Shen.
Imagine being able to use ashes on hellfire amulets. That would be so nice. But, can not do that at all. Can’t reroll them either. Bummer. It’s all create and destroy, rinse, and repeat until you give up, get the ancient to zap at the altar, or get a gg ammy to use. and show off to all the other players.
Imagine making a post on a forums about an item that isn’t even best in slot.
I believe OP was crafting one for the Altar of Rites, not to actually use it.
Imagine making a post about an item whose ancient version is needed for the Altar
He does not specify it is for the altar. Either way even if it was it is still faster to make one then reforge.
Early in season (like I believe OP is) ashes are quite rare and hard to come by. On top of that you also need a lot of them just for completing the Altar. Reforging is another costly way because early season you’ll be low on souls and there are several things that are better to spend them on. Hellfire amulets are essentially free to get and also guaranteed drops (the materials for them are). They only cost you some time playing the game.
I find the Staff of Herds easy. Ever since I learned to open/close until I spawn the right map for the Liquid Gold, I’ve saved so much time. The Gemstone of Gibberish is, also, easier since they’ve increased its spawn rate. That said, the Swart Mushroom took a long time to cultivate last season.
Exactly my point!!! When I level I don’t speed for first to 70. I actually just farm all the things I need to complete the journey and altar. 90% of both are normally done by the time I hit 70.
Liquid Rainbow is always in the same map. It has 2 points only on the map where it can appear so there is no opening open/close until you find the right map required.
If you see the bounty where you have to help Zaven find his brother, you are guaranteed access to the “dungeon” but not guaranteed to find the mysterious chest.
If you don’t see the bounty you can still find Zaven some times and get access and have a chance for the chest. But searching the huge map will take some time every time.
Ah got cha. Yes that is true. I just put on a speed build and ran the map each time anyway. It always comes up within a dozen resets. At least is has every time I have run it.
So did I. Maybe not super fast and on T16 for more loot and hopefully better visions when they occasionally popped up.
Don’t forget that the cost of crafting a Hellfire Amulet is 1 each of the Hellfire Mats plus 10 Forgotten Souls. So, to craft 25 Hellfire Amulets you will need 250 Forgotten Souls plus 25 of each Hellfire Mat.
It’s the Hellfire Ring that doesn’t require Forgotten Souls. Only Hellfire Mats.
Still, you’re correct. It’s cheaper than reforging or upgrading to a Primal… if we could.
Actually, I knew we couldn’t reforge crafted items. But, I haven’t tried to upgrade a Hellfire Amulet to Primal. (Not that I would).
I usually run Keywardens on T16 until I have at least 10 Infernal Machines. I run the Realms, also on T16, for 40 each of the Hellfire Mats. At this point I usually have about 500 Forgotten Souls or more. I can usually craft an Ancient Hellfire Amulet in 10 to 12 tries or less… if I’m lucky.
