Reforge legendary not rerolling attributes

I’ve been trying to reroll a Tal Rasha’s Relentless Pursuit with strength. I got it through the Convert set item recipe and gave it to a barbarian so I could reroll it with strength like I’ve successfully done with other items, but in the 4 or 5 times I rerolled it, it never gave me anything but an intelligence roll.

This isn’t happening on this account for the record, but on my Nintendo Switch.

This is not a bug.

Class specific set items can only have the main stat associated with the class they’re for. So, it doesn’t matter what class you do the rerolling / reforging on, Wizard class items will always have INT as their main stat.

Even though Tal Rasha’s Relentless Pursuit is meant for Wizards to equip, it is NOT technically Class-specific. If it was, it would say “Wizard” in the upper right corner of the tool-tip. (Just under the word “Torso”).

It is also a popular Chest Armor for Followers, including the Templar. (If it was Wizard-specific, no one could equip it except Wizards).

My Barbarian didn’t have a problem with it:

Then, perhaps you should move this to the Console Bug Report Forum.

What that shows is that it is possible to enchant the Int to Strength. I believe both the OP and MB are talking about reforging with the cube. In that case, reforging the Tal Rasha chest piece with a Barb does indeed end up with Int rather than Strength.

Whether that is intended or not is debatable. According to the game guide, it can come with Strength, Dex, or Int. So one can assume that reforging it with another class should cause it to roll with the appropriate main stat.

@IIGRAVITYII did not say they were trying to Reforge. They said they Converted a Set item to get the Relentless Pursuit. Then, they stated they had been trying to Reroll it with Strength. (Although Meteorblade did use the expression “rerolling / reforging”).

If I misunderstood, then I apologize. But, reforging is expensive. It would be easier to Enchant Intelligence to Strength and cost much less.

He did. The thread title is, “Reforge legendary not rerolling attributes.” So he is trying to reforge the chest piece with the barb, hoping to get one with strength on it. Normally, this works fine with non class-specific items. I don’t know if this applies to class sets, even those that can be worn by other classes and can be enchanted with other main stat, but it seems as if it doesn’t.

May have to try this with other class sets.

Somehow didn’t see that category. Done.

I was indeed talking about reforging with the cube. I didn’t think of the option to simply enchant strength, but it’d be nice if I could use that enchant for something else by ‘‘naturally’’ getting strength on it.

Edit: I’ve been trying to figure out a few things and it looks like this isn’t a bug, but I’m unable to find logic in what can and cannot gain different attributes through enchanting (and by extension reforging I presume). I first compared a Galvanized Vest with a Tal Rasha’s Relentless Pursuit; the latter can have different attributes, while the former cannot. This would make sense on the basis that the GV is a Cloak, which is only for Demon Hunters, while the TRRP is a normal Chest Armor. Then I compared a Marauder’s Visage with a Natalya’s Sight, both normal Helms, but only the NS can have different attributes.
Am I missing something here?

Oops.

It’s whatever Blizzard decides to do when they developed or update the game. (I call it “Blizzard-Logic”).

(Everything, just about, in D3 is weighted. This is to say: Some things have a low chance of appearing than other things. That goes for item drops and Properties on an item).

Best of luck in your future adventures!
