Recently got disconnected with error 1016 very often

These 2 to 3 days, while playing D3 as a god DH, I have gotten disconnected with error 1016 very often. Does anyone have the same issue? I have reset my router, reset my ISP DNS etc but still got the same issue. Timing seem to coincide with the D4 Vessel of Hatred update, server load issue?

1016 is a generic networking error and about 99% of the time it’s not the client nor the server but rather somewhere between them. Increased traffic in one node can cause momentary disconnects.

Here we go again somebody trying to help somebody. You have somebody else make fun of him because he misspelled a word WOW!!!

All he is doing is pointing out that people believe when they get disconnected from the game it is always the server. I have played on 2 servers this season. The USA & EU servers. I have been disconnected more from the USA server more than the EU.

To OP I’m on the east coast in the USA and the server is on the west coast. That it could be over 3000 miles. I have on avg 18 hops to the server. Sometimes up to 35 hops. So between me and the server something goes wrong I can get disconnected.

If it is the server you would see the forum flooded with Disconnected Topic’s.

It must be about the release of expansion pack and traffic being really dense. I play in Europe region and I have not noticed such thing as of late. Only moment where I get a drop was being away from keyboard for hours.

I can assure you and everybody else that I have the utmost respect for Kirottu. He knows a lot about the game and is always helpful and kind.

I posted the correction because I was first a bit confused about the the meaning of the typo and thought that limascg71 might be confused if he read the answer before Kirottu might notice the typo. I make typos all the time myself and often go back and edit my posts a few times.

Phones and tablets are a nuisance to write on for me… even though I do it all the time.
If I really wanted to be sarcastic or hostile I would have written something about Finnish stereotypes (you know vodka, saunas, knives) but I wouldn’t dream about doing that… and wouldn’t dare too! :grin:

Just 30 mins ago, he error message become Diablo III servers are busy and I was frequently disconnected. Either Blizzard gives us an offline mode or they should ensure they have sufficient server capacity. Its very frustrating geting disconnected when clearing a GR midway or immediately after killing the GR boss. Missed a set of primals because of the disconnect. Really frustrating.
