This game was my life for years… I havent played it recently that often other than to log on and say whats up or play first week of season.
The power creep is the biggest problem in my opinion… This game was infinitely more fun chasing higher GR levels (before we got to 150) and since apparently 151 cant happen yet you continue to buff every class every season.
Could we please nerf sets drastically at some point or figure out a way to make a GR 151-250 or something like that because people are smashing out 2min solo GR 150s … it’s laughable at this point, there’s so much damage and so much damage reduction
now you got this season where you get pylon effects every time you pot lol… and are always immune to crowd control… like cmon, we doing 150 before 24 hours in probably, give us a way to challenge ourselves. Honestly racing over the course of a season with the other Regions to who could get 150 for the first time ever was some of the best times I had playing video games… Especially the few seasons before that were we ~125-144 ish depending on what was meta.
Ditto, most stop playing shortly after clearing GR150. This happened to me in S25, the season pretty much ended at about 2500-2600 paragon — which didn’t take exorbitant time. I dumped my resources on other set pushes and returned to NS after that.
Like some others said, this is a send off for all of the casuals and players who press the wrong buttons. We all get the GR150 badge and cake.
It stinks to wait 6 months for a patch that will deliver all the power needed to beat the highest difficulty in under a week.
We assume D4 will be different. An online game isn’t just a company, it is a customer base too. Does majority of D3 customers prefer easy mode?
I speak to many long term players like you and frequently hear complaints about how this game has become too easy, and limited variety in push. Now, we got build options, but no high end push. Although we are disappointed, we still play this game. They don’t get the feedback needed for change — and sadly it’s too late now to matter.
So are you going to eat the cheap cake one last time?
Play while choking on a bucketful of chili peppers
Play while being stabbed through one hand and strangled at same time
After all, the game can be as hard as you want it to be! Never mind good game design, it’s all on the player to make it fun for themselves! Anyone who disagrees can s*** up!
GR’s cannot be increased much futher due to the HP overflow issue that cannot be solved in the game client (it would overflow around GR 153/154).
And really D3’s been at the end of its life cycle really anyway and moreso with D4 coming. Its a more of “who cares” at this point.
Theres been suggestions of adding say a Prestige GR that instead of increasing monster health instead DECREASES player damage by the same rate as Health went up instead (17%). Thats really the only way to go “higher” then 150.
This is great. If they could implement this for S28 that would even out the field a bit more, considering the S27 leader boards are plagued with people well over 5k paragon and some over 11k which is just insane for a season.
Either reduce it like you said to +1 main stat per point or cap seasonal paragon to 3k, or both.
Yeah, who cares about the people and BOTS who actually put in the work to gain paragon!!! They don’t matter. Oh, I forgot about the people who actually enjoy gaining more paragon. Screw them too!!!
Glad to know you represent the bots too. Corporate lobbying should remain legal too since corporations are people. We should probably stop taxing the extremely wealthy since they worked 400 million times as hard as everyone else. Look ma! I can do sarcasm too!
Unfortunately we eat whatever cake they throw at us. Lowering bar for 150s for casuals with limited time is fine and reasonable, but having no bar is something else. NS is a ghost town because season themes gets more outrageous every season. Many of us spent a lot of time dedicated to this only game in the last decade to a state where i can find any person never played d3 and can train him/her to dominateb LB in a month. There’s gotta be a line drawn between catering for casuals and some basic challenges. It all started with Ww Rend / GoD strafe.
Please don’t take this as being mean. This game is not, Crusader Kings, Stellaris, Eve, or anything remotely close to a game that requires planning, strategy, or even much though. It is an ARPG grind/loot fest. I consider myself a casual player because I typically stop the season after 1 to 4 weeks out of boredom. Then season journey is usually done in a day or 2. S27 I stopped after 3 weeks but am still 450ish @ paragon 1300 something, on a leaderboard that doesn’t mean anything. Rank 1 doesn’t mean anything. Skill is not a factor of how well you’re doing. These broken builds benefit the top time investors the most.
People constantly saying this game caters to casuals? No, it caters to people that live in the game and eat all their meals in front of the screen, and in their spare time post videos about how far they progressed while avoiding sunlight. They have the voices that inspire the changes, not you’re average player putting in 5 hours a week.
