Notes say:
Bones of Rathma 6-Piece Set: Each permanent active minion increases the damage of Army of the Dead and Bone Spirit by 500%, up to 8500% 9000%.
In set on live isn’t showing the Bone Spirit bonus.
*edit: LOL they changed the patch notes to match live - GG Blizz GG
Looks like no necro this season - it really is pure garbage now.

Can confirm, not in the set text and missing the bonus to bone spirit.
Hmm… interesting. Or am I being too optimistic on them making changes in the near future.
Did anyone confirm this with a new set item drop since the patch? Maybe they didn’t retro the set for some reason, though I don’t know why they wouldn’t, since they normally retro change sets…
That will suck if you have to re-farm the set, but I suspect it should have retro updated. Or the update didn’t change the text itself, or it was bugged on the set.
Guess we will find out.
The sets, both pre and post patch, are missing the bone spirit portion of the text. Otherwise, the rest of it reads the same as the patch notes.
Not just a display issue, tested it and bone spirit does not receive any multipliers from the set.

check the patch notes again. the 6 piece bonus makes no mention of bone spirit now. think they decided to remove it since they also took it off the bracers

Wow- gotta love the ninja fix on the patch notes. At the time of my post I actually copied and pasted it from these very notes.
/smh F necro looks like. That set is unplayable without the Bone Spirit buff.
GG Blizz - instead of fixing your screw up just change the notes.
Pure class.

lol, WOW. It was still there earlier today, after the patch had already dropped. I did a double take when it was missing and I wanted to make sure I didn’t miss anything. Don martin is right, it was a ninja edit lmao

yeah i thought the same as you when i saw it in game and went to check the notes. the army of the dead build is still entirely playable though. i have a measly 1200 paragon and am wearing mostly the first pieces of gear i found and still cleared a gr90 with an unoptimized build in about 5 mins. is it as strong as the masq bone spear build? no, not at all. but with set based leaderboards that doesnt really matter tbh
Hm, I’ll try it again I guess. It just felt slow and not fun, so I stopped playing it after a few test runs. As frantic or cumbersome as the PTR versions played I still preferred them to this incarnation. I just stare at my hotbar and wait for AotD to come up again.
I’d rather the minions deal some damage at this point, so I don’t feel completely useless while my character stands around and waits. Or just give the revive minions a moderate base movement speed. Resurrecting zombies is not advised…

it’s definitely hard to get movement speed in it so i spam blood rush a lot. but with command skeleton-frenzy going and recasting revive when i need too closer to enemies i never really had to wait long for AotD to pop up

Agree with this 100%. The new sets sucks. Minions hit like wet noodles. I want the old set back.

Yes, I was thrilled by the set change but not anymore when I realised that minions do no damage.

Every time I psych myself up to try the Rathma I read something like this. I suppose I will have to try it eventually but I’ve been convinced it is not a main build and more just for giggles and guffaws. Alas, I really wanted to have an unkillable army of hammer lords.
I thought it was just my necro but im glad to see im not the only one. The set straight up blows.
does this only impact solo necro or does it affect 4man meta as well?
The PTR update notes did not say Bone Spirit in the 6pc, so I would be shocked if they randomly decided to add it back.
Honestly, wish Rathma would be an actual Necro Minion set, and not about spamming Army of the Dead, but at least it is better than before…
Totally, agree. Appart from the visuals which are fantastic i cannot find anything to like about this set and i tried a lot. I just replaced squirts with haunted and got the railena for the the 4.3 dmg multiplier and that is slightly better to play and more relaxing but weaker. Wouldn’t it be better if this set was around pets? This was the genuine pet set. Ok we don’t want to see any more mages? Necro has 2 other pets. Just make the set work with skeletons and golem just like the wd gargantuans/dogs and it would be even better cause we can aim them. There are already 2 items in the game: golemsking breeches and the chest that i forgot the name that support these 2 skills, all that was needed was a multiplier and it could be awesome. And golem is a very nice cc appart from the bone armor so that could be another unique trait, not to rely on bone armor, like every other necro build out there, to stun. No need fo cooldowns, no need for emptying essence then filling it then emptying it, no need to go melee to apply curses then go again back to not die, just have your damn pets be there for you no matter what and let them do the damage.
-Pet builds in every rpg since the beginning of time: Summon your pets, sit back and enjoy the fireworks, let the pets also be meat shields that protect you and command them.
-Pet builds in D3: Nope… we just want to proc cooldown for another skill.

Idk, my rathma build has kinda been killing it…honestly the most fun I’ve had with necro in a long time. Feel free to look at Prometheus if you want an idea. Obviously RorG in the cube, and I run a super tank setup because more damage is honestly not even needed, even on RG (though I’ve only gone to gr 110 which was done in 7 minutes in not a nice rift). I imagine moratorium will be replaced by Stricken for max GR clears, but moratorium works incredibly well with gizzard, Draw Life passive, and the nature of Army of the Dead often being able to clear huge chunks of potential damage. With such high cooldown from Captain Crimson, blood rush Potency is up nearly 100% of the time too. Add in the build’s natural toughness of 75%, revive Personal Army 10%, a couple Life on Hit rolls with the Grisly Tribute passive, along with your skeletons being able to freeze anything on command (great with Krysbin and Bonds of C’lena) with your massive essence pool boosted by Reilana’s and Simulacrum Reservoir with Haunted Visions…even on GR 110 I could just stand in huge packs of enemies without fear. And even if there was fear, plenty of room for Final Service passive too, and it doesn’t even consume your minions because they’re invincible lol.
The only quirk is having to stay back at the beginning to get your revives up (because I use Devouring Aura, you can use other devour runes ofc but the aura is the laziest) but once you do, then they are up forever and with Devouring aura it makes it easy to keep your essence full while using Jesseth’s and command skeletons
Anyway that’s my take on it and it seems to work beautifully, I’m sure others have already done this build too but I figured I’d chime in, glhf!
