Question about years of war conquest season 22

Does the new sets qualify for this conquest?

Yes, they do. Still requires 2 classes to complete though.

Previously when this conquest was offered it did not include the new sets. I do not recall if this was updated in the PTR. I would expect its not.

According to those who played season on the PTR the conquest has been updated to include the new sets.

Yep, unfortunately.

With being able to do 5 sets on one class now, there is the potential for speeding it up a bit though if your class has a good way to do a LoD season start.

Instead of claiming Haedrig’s gifts on your starting class, do a LoD start. Get to level 70, run two or three GRs for a LoD gem (they upped the drop chance, so usually now you’ll get Powerful first and often LoD second), then get it to 25+ asap and get a few legendaries slotted. LoD start can actually be really fast to get to running GR40ish (you save time since you don’t have to run bounties right away for the gifts), but slows down a bit in the GR40-70 range, whereas typically with a 6p set start you can rocket to 70+ sooner. But LoD start is definitely viable. And it means you can save the gifts for a second class.

So if you want to do Years of War this way, you could do a LoD start on your first class (you can switch to a set once you have farmed one the old fashioned way), do all 5 sets on your starter class, then when you go to do your second class, you can just claim the gifts and you save some time gearing your second class, since you only need to do the one set on them now anyway.

In my experience on wizard, LoD can be pretty quick to GR40, but a bit slower to GR70+. And this will be dependent on your class having a decent option to do a LoD start with some easy to get multipliers.

In season 21, I did the LoD start. I was the first wizard to level 70, the first wizard to GR20 solo, and the first wizard to GR40 solo, but I think I was only the 6th wizard to GR70 solo (although I did take a break to run Sprinter, so that slowed me down by an hour to GR70).

Either way, LoD start and saving your gift for your second class can be a viable strategy. Especially if your only goal with the second class is to get Years of War done and you don’t actually want to really play the second class beyond that.

great to hear…when I look at the conquest list I only focused on which ones I will do and that one was not one of them…I remembered that it was in season 20 and had not been updated.

Farming for set gear for this was easy in season 20 and should be no trouble this season.

Thanks guys. Good to hear.

This is correct.
On the PTR I did 5 Crusader sets and 1 Barb set for the Conquest.

Earlier, when I played for DH(before new sets), I closed GR55 in [Monkey King’s Garb] and [Might of the Earth] sets 4+2=6
p.s. I used Yang’s Recurve and Dead Man’s Legacy

In S22, you just need to farm for 1 other set wearable. e.g. Jade set is wearable by all classes. I had worn a Jade set on a DH for this conquest before.

You can farm the 6th set by asking players to give you a spare set gear during group play (saw on icy-veins).

Or, create a second hero and farm gears by “upgrade from rare”. You don’t really need to level up this hero at all. Then give the set to the main character and GR55 is very doable.

Yep, as weird as it is, this works with these sets:

  • Tal Rasha’s Elements
  • Jade Harvester
  • Vyr’s Amazing Arcana
  • Natalya’s Vengeance
  • Immortal King’s Call
  • Raiment of the Jade Harvester
  • Monkey King’s Garb
  • Thorns of the Invoker
  • The Shadow’s Mantle
  • Might of the Earth

All you need is a class / build capable of doing GR55 without LoN/LoD or a class set and you are good. That’s what I will do this time. Just get the season journey done and quit. I only play solo and go for one class during a season so this time set of conquests is really bothersome for me. The gem thing is a no brainer since I play SC and HC, that’s two conquests done. The third is ugly, so I’m happy that this solution still works.
