Question about the update

Hello everyone. What should this update bring to the game?

According to the PTR Preview there will be updates for Mac players, which will allow PC and Mac players to game together.

Not sure it will affect console players.

And what? Weren’t Apple computer users and Windows computer users able to play together before?

I’m not familiar with consoles or Mac.

This is all I know:

Diablo III PTR 2.7.8 - Preview / PTR Focus and Details

  • New Mac Executables/Mac Native Silicon and Intel: These updates will allow Diablo III to run on new versions of the macOS.
  • PC Experience Stability: This PTR is open to both Mac and PC players. While the focal point of the 2.7.8 PTR is to test technical updates for Mac, we want PC users to monitor their playing experience as well. If you experience any stability issues or difficulties in connecting with Mac players, please give us that feedback.

As a former Mac player, it was always possible to play with Windows players… But it was a horrendous experience in groups. It was okay until floor transitions when it took an age and I’d be a couple of screens behind everyone else. I wasn’t ever allowed to znec on rats and only tolerated globe zbarbing by a few.

No idea if that will be repaired or it’s just compatibility changes so it can run on the latest Mac hardware. It was much easier when Macs used Intel chips though; and it was one of the few games I enjoyed that ran on Macs.
