Though out the summer I am on a semi unlimited data plan. Unlimited internet but once I use 50gb the internet speed drops a lot. I am wondering if anyone knows how much data playing D4 would use. D3 seems to be close to 10mb for an hour of play by yourself. I know this question is really out there and I am betting no one has looked into this but you never know, someone might have checked.
The most “expensive” game I could find in a quick google search is 300mb/hour, so using that as a worst case scenario that still gives you 150+ hours of playtime for what I assume is a monthly cap. (assuming of course that you don’t spend that cap on other things.)
Edit// I spent just under 200 mb on D4 during the beta according to the windows data usage tracker, I did everything you could do so I played maybe 10 hours? I would dare say 50 gig is plenty.
Ok so from the numbers you posted it would be 20mb and hour which is awesome.
Of course your initial download of the game is going to exceed that by a ton, unless you don’t download the high-res packs.
Does your service allow for off-hours? I mean I get 1000GB a month soft cap with Starlink. But they also allow you to use it between 11-7 at night for no addition to that usage cap. I say soft cap because they only reduce your network priority on their system, which for most users isn’t an issue, even if they hit the cap.
Others like ATT cellular with unlimited data says unlimited, but what it actually means is akin to what you are dealing with. You have unlimited speed till you hit a cap, then they will continue to provide you a connection, but its going to be much slower and/or also hit you with an additional cost.
But so many companies offer different packages so its hard to know what you will need till you use too much or not enough. lol
