Question about D3 difficulty

I have recently replayed D1 and D2 and so I have decided to give a go to D3.
While D2 felt like a direct improvement of D1, D3 looked like a totally different game.
But hey, if people wants a game that is more like D2, they can always go back to D2, it’s not like it has been reforged… yet… hopefully!
Anyway, beside the first impression of greatness of the atmosphere, the many interface improvements and so on, I have found a huge problem with game difficulty.
It is totally flat.
Completely.
I have soon moved to expert mode.
Same flatness.
It is basically run, click, click, run and everything is mindlessly destroyed.
Now, everyone says that the real game starts with the various Ts.
Ok, that’s great, but in the meanwhile, the story is completely ruined.
If I have to complete the game just running and keeping my left mouse button clicked, it gets beyond boredom.
When the game advises you that there is a challenge and it ends in few seconds I guess there is a problem.
I wasn’t using a particular strategy, or being particularly good at playing. I was just leftclicking.
Leftclicking the butcher to death is just bad. Think about when you encountered D1 butcher for the first time. It required a minimum of brain and skill to defeat it.
In D2 your equipment and resistances matter during the campaign, even by the end of Act 1. Here they simply don’t.
It is sad to see the whole story wasted in such a poor game balancing.
So the question is:
Is there a way to unlock the other difficulties BEFORE ending the game?
I am now in Act 2 and I would like to see some gameplay depth before having to leftclick through Act 5 and closing the game for good.
I don’t mind if it becaomes a pro grindfest later.

Is there a way, now, to “enjoy” the story AND the gameplay as we all did with D1 and D2?

(Please do not reply things like “the campaign is just a tutorial” or “wait to get to T8 or T9” unless you are telling me that I can unlock these levels before at least the end of Act 2.)

You have a seasonal Necro. In season, skip campaign and go right into adventure mode. Bump the game up to T6. Come back and tell us how easy it is.

They definitely should rescale the difficulties. The first few are so pointless. I dont think theres ever a possibility you wouldnt easily do hard or expert.

I have a normal necro, not seasonal. Tried seasonal, but it was unplayable with the effects. So I guess I should also wait for a fix anyway.
Picked necro because it was the expansion character and it was the class I played the least in D2. No other specific reason.
Do you think other classes are harder to play in Hard or Expert?
I thought that the adventure was something that you should play after the campaign. Maybe I was wrong.
How long does it take to reach T6?
Does the adventure spoil anything about the story?

Diablo 3 has no difficulty levels, the team failed miserably to try to implement this feature.

In Diablo 3 you choose whether the game is easy, difficult or normal. Just choose the level yourself because the development team has given up trying.

I would just like to be able to choose a balanced level for playing the campaign.
If T6 is the way to go, is T6 something you can achieve in a couple of days, or is it behind an infinite grindwall?

The best answer is you who can give.

If your character kills well at T1, do T2 or T3.

You have to put yourself to the test, this was the strategy used by the developers to please those who wept for the difficulty of the game.

Play where you think the game is providing some challenge, the good drops start at T1, which is very easy after reaching 70, even with yellow items.

Before 70 you can play on the first difficulty before T1, it will be easy and it won’t be long.

not days but hours …
for many chars, 1 set bonus is enough.

Then go into Non-season adventure mode up the difficulty to T6 then say there is no challenge.

your complaint isnt new. the game used to scale vastly different, but they decided to open it up to new players. the challenge you are looking for is not in the new game. the new game is an introduction

hard is relative to your gear. most players will fall flat on their face at T1 before level 70. others can go all the way to t3 without issue. its all dependant on class and understanding.

generally speaking, 6 piece bonuses should carry you to T10. after that, skill comes into play a little. the game “starts” T13 + where you need more than just gear to win.

Think I have almost all yellow and 3 legendary. The quality of the drops seems a lot higher compared to D2.
By the way, is it normal that leoric dropped 2 crowns in 2 different times?

Hope I can do it that fast^^

Can I switch to adventure mode while I’m playing the campaign?
EDIT: Sorry the adventure is locked until you finish the campaign. So adventure mode is not a solution it seems…

Honestly I noticed a rescaling with the latest patch of D2 also. Just a little easier for the first 4 acts, but a little, the core game is the same.

I’m just trying to find a way to enjoy the story played for the first time. After that, I guess the fun begins exploring all the classes and builds and so on, but flat fights during the campaign are quite disappointing.

Guys, stop feeding the troll.

He’s got his answers. He pretty much said so in the OP. “Don’t tell me this”… “Don’t tell me that…”

Look, you can either live with the fact that running through campaign the first time so you can open up Adventure Mode is going to be insanely easy and just do it.

Or say to hell with it. And quit playing because a couple hours of easy mode is too difficult to deal with to get the parts of the game that ARE difficult.

Your Choice!

The question, which you clearly didn’t understand, is another:
Is there a way to play the campaign for the first time and maybe ONCE, with a proper balanced difficulty setting?
As other people have proposed, you could level up in adventure mode and then play the campaign. This is not possible it seems because the adventure mode is locked before the end of the campaign.

Which is what I frickin’ said.

It can’t be done. You know it can’t be done and yet you opened a thread to moan and groan about not being able to do it under the guise of asking a question you already know the answer to.

There are words for that and they are: Concern Trolling.

Sort of has been, in Grim Dawn. But uses GD’s itemization which isn’t very impressive. Then again D2’s is not exactly anything to write home about either.

And what is that    if not a seasonal Necro?

And don’t concern yourself with higher difficulties or lack of them if you can’t even handle T6 yet.

I see that this forum is full of trolls too^^
I just bought the game maybe? How could I know it? That’s why I am asking here.
For the campaign maybe?

Mmm ok.

This is the first one I have created, but then I stopped playing because of the seasonal effects. It was unplayable. The noise and the screen cluttering… omg…
So I created the other one, it’s level 40something, normal one.
I guess that removing the seasonal effects would solve the problem, but I wonder how long it will take if it has the same pace of WC3.
And nice, I didn’t know you could see characters online^^
this is the current one

Just to quote the part where you say the answer to the question you asked.

Just as proof that you in fact, knew the answer before asking the question.

Quit Trolling already, it’s getting old.

These are the first things you can find on google, probably written by people like you. Hopefully some persons try to get a more specific and non-harsh answer.
Thanks for your participation anyway.

You Googled it, you got your answer. Sorry if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear.

What’s harsh about saying “Campaign is just a tutorial.”

People say it, because it’s true. There’s no mystery to it. No one’s hiding the truth of it from you.

plus what Nefertiri said.
