Would it be too much to update the UI so that when we mouse over our hotbars instead of being shown the default cooldowns (keep that in the skill menus for reference) it instead shows the actual cooldown times with reductions applied? This would make comparing some gear options a bit easier and just generally would be a nice feature to have.
Also incidentally, I noticed just now while playing with my Frenzy Barb as I was curious about it, running around with my sheet open and 10 stacks of Frenzy active my attack speed remained unchanged at 1.66 APS - which I know is definitely not the real number with 10 stacks (especially not with WotB active) and while sure, hardly necessary just another one of those things that’s nice to be able to see for metagaming.
It is though. At least for your global attack speed.
Note that the attack speed per Frenzy stack is not global attack speed. It’s an attack speed modifier specific to the Frenzy skill. It’s similar to the Oathkeeper attack speed bonus, it’s not a global attack speed modifier. Your Frenzy attack speed increases with 10 stacks of Frenzy, but your global attack speed is still the same. The sheet reflects your global attack speed.
How would it show for the skill in use if you have multiple skills on your bar though?
Is the game just supposed to predict which one is your primary damage dealing skill? What happens if you want to know the attack speed for a secondary skill to know how long it will interrupt your primary skill for? That’s something I’d want to know in a number of situations.
Showing the global attack speed on the sheet makes the most sense.
If you need more information than that, you can determine it yourself. You have to do that anyway, since skill breakpoints aren’t shown in game. Knowledge of skill-specific attack speed alone is insufficient.
The only other option I could see would be to show the individual attack speeds of each skill on your bar, but then you would have up to 6 different attack speeds showing, which would make the character sheet very cluttered.
Showing just the global attack speed is the simplest option. Granted, it’s not the best for every possible situation, but probably it’s the least negative option averaged across all situations.
Skill in use. He was actively playing with his sheet open looking to see what his attack speed was using Frenzy. Obviously, in town, global attack speed is all that can be shown.
Without perma WotB, Frenzy is sucks! Good damage for solo target, but bad for groups monsters, and bad survivability in high level GR`s. Developers ignored proposal changes of Zodiac Ring , for using basic skills to reduce colldown WotB too. All solo Frenzy builds will be worst, than solo WW Rend builds, because H90 set and Frenzy skill need more love!
OK? That’s completely off topic. And I’ve been seeing GR 140+ videos so no, the frenzy set is doing just fine. I’m doing very well with it personally considering how little time I play.
