Before getting started in S22 I decided to look up some videos on characters and came across several showing…“How to Speed Run With Shadow Clones”…which I tried to follow with a DH and then my DH Clone just fizzled and then went with Barb and finally hit L70…which to that I have a question…
On these videos…and especially this one I saw from…Wudijo…he literally went from 0-70 in 20-30 minutes basically going to Eight Key Areas at T6. So I wrote down the areas which were…
Southern highlands
Howling Plateau
Road to Alcarus
Bridge of Korsikk
Lower Infernal Fate
Gardens Tier 3
Fractured Fate
…well to say the least what I experienced and saw was no-where near what I saw in the video…in terms of the Pylons spawning at T6, T5, T4, T3…didn’t matter because I would say the spawn rate was about 1 in 4/5 trips. The Bridge and Road Point ware more like 1 in 8.
Other part was, he went back to previous areas and the Pylon re-spawned…I tried that and it was there but was already used along with dead enemies so I had to quit and reload the game…which out of 8-9 areas I went to lucky 3-4 had 1 or 2.
So does anyone know or guess as to the how Pylons appear, amount of and is it tied to what Tier Level?..I sure as heck didn’t get to Level 70 in 1,2, or even 3 hours
So, first you need to realize it was a video. When making videos, they edit and typically provide a presentation of optimal conditions. It is not likely that his video was a single run unedited.
Second, if he went back to previous areas and it appears that the pylons respawned, they didn’t. This alone is proof of editing. Shrines do not respawn, period. You must exit the lobby and reload the lobby.
My personal favorite is leorics manner courtyard, as it typically has a shrine 80% of the time and you can bring the clones into northern highlands where there is a significant chance of getting 1-2 more shrines. My second goto is realm of fractured fate. After clearing both areas, I leave and start a new lobby.
This is absolutely spot on. behindtimes (user on these forums) did a video on it:
we get FAR LESS XP than the PC version of the game, for the same effort.
it’s like Blizzard deliberately nerfed consoles hard to make the PC version of the game “elite”. I have no proof of this, but continued screwing of console players by Blizzard simply makes me believe this. It’s the only reasonable explanation now.
Thank you…and homerjack…I did not know that and that explains when I watched the video he was hitting like 4 levels per almost one minute run…
no matter, I finally hit 70 and chopping away finally getting a full Wastes Set to help farm…so basically they have the edge in XP and Stash Space…anything else?
Some other notes - on console, mobs under T1 and before you hit clvl 70 have double the health of the very same mobs on the PC version of the game.
On top of this, we have the NG “nephalem glory” globe problem. Without it, we do less dmg with the very same characters/builds/gear as the PC version of the game does. We also have to waste precious time and resource to grab said NG globes. PC players completely ignore them…
Kill streaks are tied to NG globe spawning - NG globes spawn at 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 75, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300 and I think, 350 kills. To be effective, you MUST break your kill streaks early, preferably at either 50 kills or 75 kills - otherwise you end up running out of NG uptime and the buffed dmg and suddenly will have issues with your dmg output, thus slowing your clear times down significantly. There is debate as to how much dmg buff the NG globes give - some say double dmg others less. I would concur with double dmg based on my experiences with the game. People come up with all whacky types of testing methods to try and determine the dmg buff and it’s funny. In a not so good way.
Thank you for writing this. I’d been wondering about a comment made some weeks ago that increased kill rate didnt necessarily translate to greater NG spawns … I see this is after a point now (5 spawns basically and the decline begins).
Interesting the comments here about Pc vs console XP too. I wonder why they would have done that if not just through chance and not really paying attention to parity.
For some reason on groups it starts on 15 then 30, then 50 and 75 so on. Like really a weird mechanic and it’s not even the same on group/solo.
And important to remember it’s based off the highest streak within a few screens (think last season stack sharing) so if your at 0 but someone didn’t clear it (usually support due to gem of toxin tick), then you won’t get any NG.
Group NG still drops every 10 starting at 10 until 50. If you’re not seeing the first one till 30 it is because it wasnt the first one, just the first one you saw. 99% of the time the NG spawns on the highest number player on the floor. P1, P2, P3,P4. If all players are on the same floor, it spawns on P4. If P4 goes to next floor, then NG spawns on P3. This isn’t always the case, but 99% of the time. There is a way to double down on NG in a group using these mechanics though. Everyone drop their streaks, start killing enemies, then one player go to the next floor at start hitting enemies. The kill streak of the players on previous floor still affects the single player on floor 2. NG spawns on P3 on first floor AND P4 on floor 2. Just dont pick up the globes and head back to floor 1 before they despawn. Any globe on a non actively processed tile will stay there indefinitely or until either the tile becomes actively processed or the RAM fills up and dumps the data.
