Purple orbs give less completion on some characters

Hello,

Has anyone noticed this?

On my barb I get far more completion from purple orbs than on my wizard.

What could this be caused by?

Thanks

Is it a Hydra wizard?

OP has no season characters…

Could be coincidentally noticing a difference between Yellow elites and Blue elites? Yellows give four orbs while Blues give three.

Nah, straight up more of the bar goes up on the barb when I pick up orbs. Can’t figure out why though

Stop drinking for at least 24 hours, sober up, then play the game again.

Then come back, reread your post, and have a good laugh at yourself.

And you’re here making the same comment every time, like you bring anything relevant to the table.

Could it be related to one hero has more plus to exp gained? (Unless progress orbs have fixed values).

Seasonal power rewards you one more extra orb when you kill every member of an Elite pack. This can cause the difference by missing a few minions on a Rare Elite pack which adds another extra progress orb. If you have no Seasonal character then you just encounter Champions more than Rare Elites, which is random.

There’s no bug or a mistake.

Seems like OP doesn’t have any season chars tho.

no they sould not, unless they’re bugged, i have not notice it since i dont play several characters at once, im focusing wizzard now so i dont notice any difference

yeah but OP never mentioned anything about season, he just said purple (generic) progress orbs, not the extra 1 from season buff… maybe he just mean to nonseason

Jepp. I’m thinking the same.

The progress moves in tiny fractions of a percent, but the mouseover only shows whole numbers. So I can’t see how someone could observe the exact amounts each orb advances the bar.

If the sum of a pack of orbs is anything but an integer, the bar can appear to move different amounts for the same pick up.

For example, let’s say the orbs are 1.5% (I don’t what they actaully are). Then take two progress bar percentages: 20.34% and 20.79%. Both would read 20% with a mouse over. After picking up 5 orbs we’d have 27.84% and 28.29% resepectively. However, now the mouseover would read 27% and 28% respectively.

Thus, I don’t see how it can be reliably determined how much each orb should be moving the progress bar.

According to Maxroll each orb is 1.15% progress.

For the record, if someone is using a seasonal pet build, pet kills do not trigger the extra globe drop from the altar. It is possible to cheese it with a speed pylon and if you kill a pack while they’re knocked up in the air then you get the extra globe.

Not sure it applies here but this might help someone.

Nothing. Each purple orb gives 1.15% progression. Yellow packs drop 4 and blue packs drop 3. Total progression for that pack = base progression based on mob types + orb progressions

Example : 5pack charger blue pack gives 0.72%x5 + 1.15%x3 = 7.05%

Yellow pack contains 1 construct + 4 construct minions. You managed to kill the leader and no minions… Progression is 0.39+1.15x4 = 4.99%

There’s no bug and nothing causes different classes to receive different progression % except your self needs to understand how progression yields and it’s formula slightly more in depth.

They do, at least for the DH M6 sentry build. The problem is that the extra globe drops at your feet, where it is difficult to see, and soon gets hoovered up. I think that’s why it seems that pets don’t trigger the extra globe.

Haven’t tested it on other pet builds, so can’t say if it affects them.
