Why not make Rapid Fire into the build?
It’ll be a fantastic RGK build just machine gun the RG down.
Thank God the new set has nothing to do with rapid fire!

Imagine if RF could channel extra \ homing \ proc other stuff

It doesn’t like Rapid Fire because Odyssey’s End buffs DIBS, and that won’t do crap for RF.
It’s weird they want to push a Generator build. Which is awesome. But UE still provides 3* as much damage as this set and an additional 10% damage reduction in the set.
The only difference is mobility. And then there’s the additional gem options since you channel Rapid fire.
I like the look of the play style, but it lacks damage right off. Also, do the primaries count as your attack or not? Can you stack primary damage and benefit from channel procs at the same time?
This set could be awesome if the interactions work and gets a damage buff.
RF has a LoD/N build and it’s closest you can get to a RGK.
New DH set has defensive use of Strafe as a counter-part to Natalya but it can be pretty much the trapper-primary spammer everyone wanted with a Helltrapper.
Also, Oddysses End will be broken if it applies to all damage sources. 150% increased damage taken from ALL SOURCES. New group meta inc.
I actually thought it looked like a rework of Natalya rather than a new set. It’s just so poorly constructed, so let’s see what we can do with it.
Stop this nonsense, all sets are introduced at a 10k% damage level and we work from there. Add to that it has been proven several times that Strafe needs less power to shine than other skills.
Strafe isn’t the damaging skill. And no, 10k is not a PTR baseline. WD last PTR started with almost a 40000 multiplier with SB. So BS.

The set doesn’t buff Strafe at all though. It only buffs primary skills. Strafe is included solely as a vessel for movement, DR, and auto-shooting primary skills. It’s a pure generator set with Strafe as a synergy. With the set as it’s listed in the PTR notes, Strafe will do literally no damage. All your damage will come from primary skills.

Patterns of Justice, Aegis of Valor, Horde of 90 Savages and Typhoons Veil all started at 10,000% - but sure that’s just a coincidence, or maybe the aliens?
Also the 40,000% from Mundunugu’s Regalia was only when you boosted mana regen with 800 mana per second. Most instances still runs closer to 200 mana per second, which is still the 10,000% mark.

Neither does the Strafe build. You should probably check it out before you say anything about it, as the supportive items for Strafe has never really added much, but the mechanics and utility of the skill is really strong. Go check out Wudijo’s videos on the skill as he pushed it the furthest.
And you assume I haven’t? I’ve played pure Strafe (for speedfarming, was never very viable though), Strafe RoV, and Strafe FoK in the past. I was never very good at Strafe FoK, but I pushed Strafe RoV to rank 30 (S4 NA HC seasonal solo DH).
Including Strafe doesn’t automatically make the build good. It would still need a sufficient multiplier on generators. That is what will make the build good.
Strafe FoK and Strafe RoV weren’t automatically good because they included Strafe. They were good because, at the time, FoK and RoV had good multipliers. Strafe just happened to be an effective way to deliver those skills.
Sounds like this set is intended to make Strafe an effective way to deliver generators. Cool. That could be very strong, as you’ve pointed out. But ultimately, the set will only be strong if the set and item bonuses are sufficient. Strafe alone doesn’t suddenly make it good.
Apparently I do as Strafe is a build on it’s own using LoN and the skill Strafe back in season 6 or something like that. and was one of the first builds to even clear GR70. Had nothing to do FoK or RoV, it was purely Strafe. And back then LoN only gave 750%.
Not sure why they made a whole new build for strafe when there’s already nat strafe, it just needed a buff. They doing that half-assed work like they did with Monks SWK TR and POJ TR, literally the same thing lol… Blizzard’s creativity still on that 6 month twice a year vacation???
If it could be competitive with other zDPS that would be a good thing after monk/barb zDPS monopoly for 15 seasons…

No argument there DH has been left out for a very very long time.
It looked more like a DH version of Waste set to me. So I think,
he/she got it right.
Only difference is DH set has to cast primary spell every 10 sec (after getting full stack. or, I hope the buff refreshes, not just falls off after 10 sec). But that can be equated to hard casting rend or Ground Stomp for FnR, BoM activator.
I’m wondering how the 4p bonus works though. IIRC, problem with Strafe as a skill was, it is consisted of 3 shots. 675% weapon damage but in a span of 3 shots making it quite slow in attack speed. If primary skill is cast is all that 3 shots, it could basically said that’s 3x multiplier for a single target. For multiple mobs, it acts more like H90 sets.
At first I was somewhat disappointed it was not a full Strafe set, but thinking again, I think that was a perfect way to not make this another grenade build as dmg doesn’t come from Strafe.
