It’s currently possible to gain the bonuses from two weapon type soul shards when first equipping two unsocketed weapons, and then inserting the soul shards. This only works with two different soul shards. It is not possible to equip two indentical shards with this method, however.
I get an error message saying “You cannot equip more than one weapon socketed with a Soul Shard”, so presumably the double bonus should not be possible. The added bonuses are reflected in the stat details tab when adding the shards.
